Mrs. Jaguar, Sydney Age and Occupation: 27, Primary School Teacher Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, IT Consultant Engagement Date: August 8, 2009 Wedding Date: June 2011 Venue: Curzon Hall About Me: I'm an Australian girl who is a self-proclaimed nerd, loves all things stationery and would be lost without books, music and the internet. Mr. Jaguar and I have been together for the past eight years and he finally popped the question last August. Hurrah! We currently live in Sydney, Australia with our adorable cat who thinks he's a person. We're a couple who likes to multi-task: we've been planning a wedding abroad, a permanent move from London to Sydney, and preparing to build our own home all at the same time. Travelling makes me giddy...as does Mr. Jaguar, of course!

There & Back Again

December 9th, 2010 @ 1:08 pm by Mrs. Jaguar

So, hive – I’M BACK!

You’re probably wondering what I’m going on about, since I’ve been posting every couple of days since my introduction back at the end of September. Well you see, I’ve actually been away from my computer for the past two months. Wait, what? Eh? Let me try to explain myself.

My little blogging blurb mentions that I’ve been living in the UK but am getting married in Sydney, hence the semi-destination planning that’s been happening for the last eighteen months. I hinted in my early days about gathering inspiration from Europe, and then followed up with a post about the pre-wedding-moon that Mr. Jaguar and I had planned on our way home back to Australia. What I didn’t mention at the time, was that all of those travels were happening then and there, as we spoke. I’ve been away travelling since October.

Yep, I’d just received my acceptance letter about blogging for the ‘Bee, and I was due to head off the following week—what’s a girl to do? Well, this girl blogged. And blogged. And blogged.

Pre-blogged, if you will. That’s right, Ramble McBlogger over here got just a wee bit over excited, and blogged up a storm before her trip, so that there wouldn’t be any awkward gaps while I was travelling and offline. Could you tell? :) I think my random wedding dress post from a few weeks ago {which was purchased while we were in Vancouver} might have given it away, but overall, I kept it on the down-low. I hope you’ll forgive me for multi-tasking!

Anywho, now that I am officially home and back in Sydney, things are going to get a whole lot busier. Mr. Jaguar and I picked up our Oscar-kitty from the Australian Quarantine station today, so we feel a lot more like our little family once more, except for one important thing: we’re living apart. And oh, it is awful. For financial reasons, we’ll be living with our respective parents {rent-free} for a month or so, until we can find ourselves an apartment to rent in the New Year. Logically, it makes sense. Emotionally, I’m a hot mess and I am missing him like mad. We’re also in the process of finding & organising our dream house so that we can begin building in the next few months—an exciting but extremely daunting task. Add in all of the crazy bits and pieces that need organising when you’re moving abroad {finding jobs, bank accounts, phone numbers, did I mention JOBS?} and things just went to a whole new level of crazy!

But all of that fun stuff aside, now that I’m officially an Aussie Bee once more, I can move on to wedding planning on a more physical level. I have a few DIY projects I want to start organising, I need to get Save the Date & Invites sorted over the next couple of weeks, and gosh, well, I have a LOT of other stuff left to arrange now that I’m not a thousand miles away from everything. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who’s read along with me so far, and I promise there’ll be good stuff yet to come…including the grand reveal of my dress!

Welcome back - I’ll be in Sydney for a few days in March. Looking forward to the trek across Oz, but not the awful flight to get there!

Yay, welcome back! Anybody else think of Bilbo Baggins when they read the title of the post? :) Oops, my inner nerd is showing.

Now that you’re in Sydney can I read all your posts to myself in an Australian accent?

Lucky traveler! Will you post some pics from your trip, wedding related or not?

Haha, I’m glad people picked up the reference.. and @Kemi, you’re right - I should’ve DEFINITELY had that as the first line! ;)

Thanks for the welcomes, ladies. I’ll definitely be posting about the travels - might be good ideas for honeymoon or minimoon inspiration, you never know!

Welcome home! Hope you are happy back at home. I remember the excitement of coming home from being abroad for 3 years, so busy and so fun. Good luck getting all the things you put off done! (I know that sounds mean but I know I put off A LOT of wedding stuff while I was abroad. I kept procrastinating and going, “Well, I’m not home so I should really just wait to finish that project…”)
