About Mrs. Dolphin

This Christmas will be very special for us this year because it will be our first Christmas as a married couple. Hooray! With that in mind, this past weekend we unpacked our holiday decor, turned up the Christmas tunes, put on our Santa hats, and got our camera set up for our annual Christmas tree video. Annual is a relatively new revelation. We had so much fun making the video last year, we thought we’d try our hand at it again with a few changes. But, enough of my yappin’, why don’t you see for yourself?

Stop Motion Christmas 2010 from Mrs Gator on Vimeo.

The video was shot with Mr. Dolphin’s Nikon D60 with a fish eye lens he received for Christmas last year from my parents. My favorite part is the ending…I love it. It makes me smile, smile, smile. :)

Since this wasn’t our first rodeo, we knew a little of what to expect and had a little fun with the snapshots. If you view the video in full screen you will see some high fivin’, a thumbs up, silly faces, and a cameo by our newest family member, Pepper.

I love putting up our tree every year because it is something we do together. I guess you can say this little video is now a tradition for us.

Do you have any holiday tasks you look forward to each year because you get to complete the task with the help of your significant other? Wrapping gifts? Putting up lights? Shoveling the sidewalk (for you Northerners, LOL)? I’d love to hear!

That is so much fun! Did it take a long time to do?

Also, this is a *really* dorky question, but your entire outfit is adorable-is there any way possible you could tell us where you got the yellow shirt/ white tank combo? I love it! You have such great taste!

@elkennedy: I’m actually slightly embarrassed to say! The shirt and white tank are both from Hollister Co. Now that I’ve graduated and an “adult” (lol), I’ve graduated from Hollister. The navy scarf was a gift from my Maid of Honor!

We hooked up the camera to our Mac and a program was set up that took a picture every 5 seconds. Really, we just had to set up the room. Took us an hour and a half to decorate our tree, and about another two hours to put the video together. Super easy!

@mjchexum: That’s the plan! We want to start these traditions before kids so they can see what we did, and we want to continue doing the video once we have kids.
