About Mrs. Waffle

So, I made a mistake. An impulsive but glorious mistake. An expensive mistake. My mistake was buying these exquisite Badgley Mischka Raphaela shoes…

How in the world could THAT be a mistake, Miss Waffle?

Well, it’s a mistake because I bought them before I bought the dress. I took them with me on the first day of dress shopping and realized they were just not going to work out with the top two contenders. However, at the last salon we went to on that day, Blush Bridal, we found THE shoes!

Love by Enzoani Orchid shoes in ivory satin…I die. Alie calls them “the cake shoes.” The heels are about three-and-three-quarters inches high, but there is padding built into the ball of the foot. Best of all, they say “love” on the bottom. Ahhhhhhhh!

Now, the one downside in deciding to get these shoes is that, like a wedding gown, they don’t get made until you place your order. This means I won’t be getting THE shoes! until the end of January…the same time my dress is due to arrive. So, how did I know what size to order? Luckily, the sample shoe at Blush was my size. Exactly. Whew!

All that waiting is making Miss Waffle a little Crazy McCrazers, though.

OK, maybe not that crazy, but pretty darn close. Until then, I’ll have to settle for prancing around the house in my Badgley Mischkas.

Did any of you make an expensive shoe mistake?

eek, I hope not - I bought a pair of Badgley Mischka’s also (Randall, in blue - LOVE) after I bought my dress, but I don’t get to see the dress or go to a fitting for MONTHS, so I’m just hoping they will go…I keep telling myself if they don’t, they are still awesome shoes that I could wear otherwise (since they aren’t white).

I love BOTH of your shoes!

Actually, ::sheepish face:: I made a CHEAP shoe mistake. I bought $25 pretty blue shoes on ebay that I actually really loved. Then I entered this insane contest through Wedding Central, went to NYC and won a pair of Christian Louboutins!

While they were free and matched my dress PERFECTLY, they must have been samples as they had some scuffs here and there and we had to wear them for press photos on concrete, so those iconic red soles got a little chewed up. It’s going to cost WAY more than my original pair to have them cleaned and repaired for the big day, but, they have an AMAZING story and I never in a million years dreamed I would own anything so extravagant, let alone wear them on my wedding day!!

No, but I made a LOT of cheap shoe mistakes. It added up very quickly!

And, both of those shoes are fabulous!

I originally bought Bgley Mischkas for my wedding, and quickly discovered how uncomfortable they were. Suuuper bummed. I pouted, returned them, and bought these high heeled sparklers: http://fisilis.wordpress.com/2010/12/08/going-to-the-chapel/

I got them from Nordstrom for a hudred dollars cheaper.
