The good news: After two solid months of hardcore Weight Watchers, I am down almost 20 pounds! I still don’t see a difference when I look in the mirror, but I’m able to fit into some clothes that I’d outgrown this past year, and other people are beginning to notice. It’s nice to see that my hard work is paying off!

The other good news: I got a call from David’s Bridal yesterday, telling me that my dress had come in, two months early! I went to pick it up today and decided to try it on before I left.
And then, the bad news: I was swimming in the damned thing. Yup, I’d lost so much weight that the dress was huge on me. It wouldn’t even stay up without me holding it in the back. I figured that we’d just have to do some massive alterations, but the consultant in the dressing room suggested that I check with the manager to see if I could exchange it.
Luckily for me, the wedding is still almost six months away, and an exchange won’t cost a thing. The store manager will exchange my current dress, and the smaller dress will make it in plenty of time for the wedding.
But if I lose more weight, I run the risk of swimming in this dress by the time it arrives. Yikes. I suppose that I’ll have to have a lot of faith in the alterations because I have no intention of pausing my weight-loss endeavors when they are working so well.
Has anyone ever dealt with continued weight loss before the wedding? How did you handle fitting into your dress?
