This is a little note to the gals nearest and dearest to our hearts: Our five bridesmaids. God love them.
You know, when Mr. Jam and I started wedding planning, he only really wanted one thing: A wedding party. And I wanted nothing to do with one thing: A wedding party.
We quickly learned the meaning of compromise because one can only threaten to call off a wedding so many times before it gets a little tiring. And yes, we decided to have a wedding party. And YES, I’m actually so excited about it now I want to scream in their faces every second.

I even made each gal a card with a flower on the front that can double as a hair clip. Because, you know, I’m pretty obsessed with them myself. The cards turned out a little wonky, and I’m sure I could have ordered sweet little cards on Etsy, but I think the Jam ’maids liked the handmade touch. Actually, I don’t remember because we were too busy screaming and freaking out to even talk about them.
The only thing I really wanted for our wedding party (for both the guys and the gals) was that they each dress in what they what they’re comfortable wearing. Mr. Jam is dealing with the guys because that’s his thing. BUT we’re making each gal pick out a bridesmaids’ dress in a color within the beige-champagne-tan color family that she would totally want to wear again in whatever price range she wants.
But, but, but…there are just a few rules:
1) Dresses have to be short without being hoochie-mama short;
2) I despise the tugging that often goes with a strapless dress, so I would prefer they have some sort of strappage;
3) Nothing too fancy because it’s a more casual wedding. Seriously, I wouldn’t be shocked (or mad) if some old man showed up in jeans.
And just to prove that the rules can be followed and our bridesmaids will all look as fabulous as they are (straight-up divas, I tell ya), here are some ideas to get the wheels turning:

Cutie-cute-cute and on sale for $19.99!

I love this! I want to wear this! It’s just $23.99!

CHEAPY-CHEAP with the one-shouldered ruffle at just $13.69; it’s so cheap, how could you NOT at least try it?!

You could totes wear these again, and I’m even digging that little beige and white print. Each $75 here.

I am dying to dress this up; it’s seriously screaming “JAM BRIDESMAID” for just $58.

PRESH and totally re-wearable, on sale at J.Crew for $99.99.

This crinkled chiffon dress is pretty darn cute, and GASP! It’s from David’s Bridal for $120.
Actually, I’ll be happy with whatever the ladies wear, just as long as they’re comfortable gettin’ down on the dance floor…and NOT wearing these:

Oh, it’s Gaultier? Yeah, no.

I know you love Jersey Shore, but do you really want to look like JWoww? Let me answer that for you…NO.

…but I dare you to look as cute as this bb.
I could seriously go on a neutral-champagne-tan dress hunt forever. So what do we think? Are we digging this? Did you let your bridesmaids choose their own wedding-day frocks? Was it a total disaster and you barely escaped with your life?
And bonus question: What sorts of things did you do to make sure your wedding party was comfortable…or was that not an issue?
