Mrs. Brooch, Arlington, VA Age and Occupation: 25, Writer/Editor Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Front Desk Manager Engagement Date: October 3, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2011 Venue: Oxon Hill Manor About Me: I’m an indecisive girlie-girl with a motor mouth, can-do attitude, and knack for making others laugh. I dream of becoming a best selling novelist like Elizabeth Gilbert or Julie Powell (a girl can dream, right?), and love long road trips, a beautiful countryside, music, blogs, books, and all things vintage/thrift/antique/or homemade. I’m a Virgo, i.e. overly sensitive, emotional, and critical, and there’s no such thing as short and sweet in my world. I want to say and do it all. Mr. Brooch grounds me. I point where to go and he figures out the way. He’s a pragmatic fancy-pants who enjoys video games and movies. We both adore our mutt, Rocky, and spending time with our amazingly supportive family and friends. We’re planning a garden wedding with a formal reception with lots of whimsy and unique, Southern-inspired details.

Bridesmaids’ Accessories

December 15th, 2010 @ 2:58 pm by Mrs. Brooch

We’re almost there guys! This is so exciting!

I’m relieved to have finally picked bridesmaids’ dresses; that was huge check off of my to do list and I’m ready to dive into planning the other aspects of the maids’ outfits now!

My vision?

Two words: ruffled, pink.

Bridesmaids' Accessories : wedding accessories arlington bridesmaid dress jewelry shoes Bridesm1 Bridesm

Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize!

Here’s how:

1. A Cardigan:

I have this fear that it’s going to be freezing on our wedding day, and my bridesmaids who were all sorta partial to longer dresses are going to want to kill me for putting them in something above the knee! My solution: cute cardigans!

2. Some Gorgeous Shoes:

Just because I won’t be wearing heels, doesn’t mean my girls can’t! Let’s just say I’ll be living vicariously through them as they rock these pretty pink pumps. <3 I think the pop of color will be just beautiful in pictures!

3. Statement Necklace:

Oh, the statement necklace. Will it ever go out of style? I sure hope not! Can you believe this one was only $15 at Forever 21? You can’t beat that deal, and while I wouldn’t recommend wearing it overnight (unless you want to have a green necklace on the next day), but it couldn’t hurt to wear it for a few hours on, let’s say, our wedding day!

4. Blossoming Bouquets:

I talked about our bridesmaids’ flowers previously, and it’s my hope between the shoes and bright pink bouquets, we’ll have the perfect mix of our two main colors: green and pink. We’re not ordering the Shamrock green (shown in five); it’s actually a color called Clover, which is a lot like the color you see in picture four.

5. Our Affordable, Re-wearable Dress:

None of this would be possible without the dress! I love this dress, and it’s totally re-wearable, which I hope excites my BMs, ’cause it sure excites me! It’s exactly what I had in mind all along, and I’m pleased to announce there’s even a “JB,” style, too! Do you know what that means? Junior Bridal! Woot woot! Brooke will be so excited!

How are you planning to accessorize your BMs for the wedding?

Dressing the Little Ones | Weddingbee

[...] There are two dresses pictured here, because I’m kinda torn. I love love love the Alfred Angelo dress in clover and while. The cascading flowers are adorable, perfect for a garden wedding, and I like the idea that she’ll be matching the rest of the girls (whose dresses are also clover). [...]
