As far as bachelorette parties go, mine was pretty tame. There was no penis-related apparel, no silly games, and not even very many drinks. It was exactly what I wanted.
After the shower was over at Sister Cardy’s house, we were all ready to go let loose and have some fun. We all packed up what we wanted to bring and headed out for some pre-party shopping. Because, who doesn’t love shopping? Plus, it was a great way to work off some of the copious amounts of food we had consumed at the shower.
After shopping, we headed over to Sister Cardy’s friend Sarah’s house to get ready. We blasted music, danced around, and got beautiful.

And Sister Cardy painted Sarah’s toenails because Sarah’s legs are too long to do it herself, which I found endlessly amusing (since I have like, the opposite problem).

Soon, we were all ready to go!

Annnnd, we headed out! At this point it was already about 8:30 or so because we took forever getting ready, but we had a blast so I didn’t even care. We were finally starting to get hungry at this point, so we headed to Cheesecake Factory!

Side note: Sister Cardy and I totally didn’t plan on matching. It just happens like that sometimes. We’re sisters, what can I say?
After eating some (delicious!) food, we were ready for the night to officially begin. The first stop was the one I was probably the most excited about.
I’ll give you a hint:

That’s right, I got a tattoo at my bachelorette party. I’ve wanted one for four or five years now but I’ve just never actually done it. I figured, what better time than now? The original plan was for all of us to get them, but for various reasons only Sister Cardy and I ended up getting tattoos—and they match! ‘Cause we love each other like that.

Here we go!
I got mine on my side (on my ribcage), and let me tell you, it was not a pleasant feeling. It fact, it was one of the most unpleasant feelings I’ve ever experienced. But I felt a bit better about it when the guy doing it let me know that the only tattoo that he had that was more painful than his ribcage was the one on the top of his head. Ouch!

Trying to go to my happy place!
Of course, while I was in my room trying to sit still and focus on anything but the pain, my sister was in her room relaxing and feeling almost no pain. Jealous! She got hers on her shoulder.

Annnnd soon enough, it was all over! The whole process only took about 15 minutes or so and I was (and still am) super proud of myself for surviving it and not crying! I think the guys in the shop were pretty impressed too, as they seemed to think I was going to have a meltdown as soon as the needle hit me.
I’m soooo happy with how they turned out!

Sister Cardy’s tattoo

My tattoo! (Sorry for the awkwardness…and the Saran wrap; it’s hard to get a photo of it without looking like I’m naked!)
Once our ink was done, we headed out to finish off the night with some dancing.
My absolute favorite spot of the night was Pete’s Dueling Piano bar. I’m a sucker for piano bars to begin with, and these guys are amaaaazing. They started playing Bohemian Rhapsody as soon as we walked in, which instantly sold me as it’s one of my favorite songs ever. It was insanely crowded, but we managed to snag a spot with an awesome view upstairs.

I seriously could have stayed here ALL NIGHT if it wasn’t for how hot it was upstairs. Downstairs felt great, but it was like a sauna where we were. I definitely plan on coming back here SOON with Mr. Cardy in tow—he would love it.
Oh, and if you need any convincing of how awesome these people are, here’s a quick video of my favorite song they did. I’m a sucker for Aerosmith and anyone who can get anywhere near the awesomeness of Steven Tyler’s voice.
(If you listen closely you can hear me shriek “here comes the best part!” right before he starts screaming. Yup, I’m a dork.)
So yeah, Pete’s was awesome. I cannot wait to go back sometime soon. But, unfortunately, we didn’t stay for very long. After we left there, we went and danced. And danced. And danced. And watched drunk people get kicked out of the bars. And then danced some more. It was great.

We all looked like total badasses in our leather jackets, right?
I have to say, it was a ton of fun to have a completely sober bachelorette party. We all had a few drinks, but no one got drunk and it was just overall a really relaxing night. Of course, my feet were KILLING me by the time we headed home at 2:00 in the morning, but it’s probably my fault for wearing brand new boots with a heel a good two inches higher than what I’m used to.
Sister Cardy did an AWESOME job planning a great day for me, and I can’t thank her enough for being the best sister ever. I’m so lucky to have her!
Did you do anything drastic (like get a tattoo) during your bachelorette party?
