After the Wine Box ceremony, Mr. Husky read his vows to me:

(guest photo)

From this moment forward, I promise to give my best efforts to being the best husband I can be.

Though I won’t be perfect,

I promise to make you soup when you are sick.

To eat hot peppers with you when you quit smoking. [Mr. Husky & I quit smoking together, over 4 years ago, by setting our mouths on fire with the hottest peppers we could find any time we had a craving. Turns out, a cigarette is the last thing you want with a mouth full of fire.]

To save when we are broke.

To save when we are rich.

To encourage you in the last few miles of the marathon.

To cheer for you when you cross the finish line.

To hold your hand when you are afraid.

To hug you when you cry.

To smile when you laugh.

You make me more than I could be otherwise and I promise to do my best to do the same for you.

I can promise to love you unconditionally, cherish you relentlessly and honor you thoroughly, at least as long as I live.

You are my dearest friend, closest confidante, and most trusted partner. From now to oblivion.

Then it was my turn to read my vows to Mr. Husky:

Mr. Husky, you are not the man of my dreams, because my dreams were never hopeful enough to imagine someone like you. But you have become a part of them ever since we first met.

My heart explodes with words and phrases to try and tell you how humbly grateful I am that you are a part of my life. I am constantly surprised to realize exactly how much I love you, and even more astonished to remember you feel the same.

I love you. And when I say I love you, I mean you make my happiness more joyful and my sorrows more bearable.

I mean you are more than I ever believed I deserved.

I mean that my worst days with you are better than my best days without you.

My love for you will last the rest of my life, even if there are times when my patience with you grows thin.

I promise to love you on your best days, when your eye glitters with mischief, when you celebrate promotions, when you welcome new members into our family.

I promise also to love you on your worst days, when your shoulders slump with defeat, when you mourn the loss of what you’ve loved.

I promise to remember the good times, even when bad times are upon us.

And I promise to learn from the bad times, even as we enjoy the good.

No matter what turmoil will come, I will always await the passing of the storm.

I look back at our past with appreciation and look forward to our future in anticipation of many great years to come.

I promise to love you mostly, always.

Mr. Husky slid the rings onto my finger:

And then I slid the ring onto his finger:

We were pronounced husband and wife, and were finally allowed to kiss!

Can you tell how excited I was? Mr. Husky barely had time to get his arms around me! He finally caught up:

We were introduced as Mr. & Mrs. Husky, and made our exit down the aisle:
