I'm not afraid to poke fun at myself, and I'm a believer that given the right pair of shoes, a girl can conquer the world. While an interest in the sciences threw Mr. Tartlet and me together (again, and again, until it finally stuck), we share a love for many things---food, video games, car dancing, food, bad puns, travel, did I mention food?---that ultimately led us to where we are now, less than five months from becoming Mr. and Mrs. We're planning a laid-back, romantic, garden-inspired affair with organic and quirky touches that reflect our love for the unexpected!

Things I Heart: Family & Friends

December 21st, 2010 @ 5:15 pm by Mrs. Tartlet

“There is nothing I would not do for those who are really my friends. I have no notion of loving people by halves, it is not my nature.”

- Jane Austen, Northanger Abbey

One result of a long engagement (two years and change by the time the big day arrives!) is that our wedding has had ample time to evolve. However, the constant has been to plan an event that will be hopelessly romantic and thoughtfully personalized, where every person feels like the guest of the hour.

We view our wedding as a rare opportunity to gather those closest to us to celebrate love and life, and relish in those happy moments that warm you down to your toes. This affair wouldn’t be complete without my family.

And of course the friends who have grown with us as a couple:

Three of my close girlfriends—aren’t they a bunch of hotties?

Who are you most looking forward to sharing your big day with (other than your spouse-to-be, of course)?

I’m with you, T! I can’t wait to spend the day with my family! They’ve been around longer than Mr. G ;-), and, for real, they couldn’t be happier for us.

Awww, how sweet! I’m with you on the close friends. I think they may even be more excited for the wedding than me.
