Mrs. Cinnamon Bun's Picture
Mrs. Cinnamon Bun, Calgary, Alberta Age and Occupation: 26, Stage Manager Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Theatre Technician Engagement Date: June 22, 2010 Wedding Date: June 2011 Venue: Calgary Opera Centre About Me: I'm a life-long crafter and bookworm living in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies. Some of my loves include Lord of the Rings, Sherlock Holmes, knitting, opera, musicals, Etsy, baking, and of course, Mr. Cinnamon Buns. We're keeping our wedding close to home---the venue isn't very far from our house, and we live within walking distance of 6 bridal salons. I'm using the wedding as an excuse to try out every craft project I possibly can, with the endless help and support of my fiance.
About Mrs. Cinnamon Bun

We spent about 45 minutes at the ruins, then we hopped in our cars and drove to our home. I’d thought about doing a shoot in our kitchen, with brownies or muffins or something. But in the end I decided that our kitchen is just too terra cotta, and I didn’t want that immortalized. ;) Cinnamon Buns also wanted to get photos of us in front of our bookcases, cuddling on the couch, drinking tea, playing Wii…all the things we do normally when we’re at home together. Once again, all photos in the post are by Fotograffika.

We both changed into some of our favourite comfy clothes.

Goofed off. :)

(Sidenote: I love how our bookcases look in black and white!)

Drank tea from our matching mugs (his is Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, mine is Dame Agatha Christie).

Disapproving fish is disapproving!

I am so happy we did some of our engagement shoot at home and amazed that Vanson got such great pictures. I always think of our house as a little dim—we face north, and we’re a few feet below grade—but with the help of a great day and a great photographer, it almost looks like a magazine house! Oh, and the tremendous amount of cleaning both of us put in in the days leading up to the shoot. :)

Would you consider doing engagement photos at your home?

Cute pics! Your house is adorable–the built-in bookcases are awesome and a great backdrop. My house is nowhere near as cool as yours so I don’t think any amount of good photography could have made it a good setting for our e-pics!

awww I love the “Cuddled” One :D and the idea of doing it at home- it has the air of being candid, but also being really intimate and genuine which I love.

@Pomapoo: That’s what I mean about our house looking great in the photos! They’re not built-in bookcases, they’re just lots of Ikea Billy bookcases!
Although I will say that we cleaned everything really well the day before. :)
