Wedding Sh*t Corner

December 21st, 2010 @ 6:27 pm by Ms. Sloth

This may be presumptuous of me, but I’m willing to bet that the majority of brides-to-be have a space in their houses that has been completely taken over by wedding supplies.

In our home, it’s the corner of the dining room. We fondly refer to the area as “Wedding Sh*t Corner.”

This is it, after I organized it last night. You didn’t want to see the “before,” trust me.

Wanna see some close-ups? Sure you do.

Wedding Sh*t Corner : wedding decor philadelphia Wsc2 Photobucket

1. Birdcage card box; 2. Semi-complete brooch bouquet; 3. Photo guest book; 4. Special hanger for my dress; 5. Paper and envelopes for invitations; 6. Boxes of picture frames for table numbers; 7. Props for photobooth

1. Boxes of approximately 40 mismatched vintage glass vases for centerpieces; 2. About 12 different fabrics for table overlays; 3. A few dozen flip-flops from Old Navy for dancing.

And if Wedding Sh*t Corner is this crazy at five months out, we’re going to need another whole room in a few months, I fear.

Do you have a section of your home that’s been taken over by wedding stuff? What’s in your Wedding Sh*t Corner?

2.5 months later, we still have a wedding sh*t room. I keep telling myself to organize it (read: sell or throw it away), but it just hasn’t happened yet. :)

I’m so glad I’m not the only one with a sh*t corner (or two). When we have people over I have to shuffle all the boxes into a room and shut the door. ;)

@Mrs. Husky: We’re 8 months post-wedding, and we STILL have a large area w/ wedding stuff. Sigh.

Yep! I had to clean out a bunch of stuff in our guest room closet to hold all of the wedding stuff because it was taking over our dining room.

Ohhhhh yeah, ours was the stairs and next to the TV. And it doesn’t get up and leave after the wedding, either!

Oh for sure we have a wedding crap corner. I just pulled everything out if it over the weekend, partially to organize and partially to photodocument what’s there. We’re meeting with our OOT friendor florist over the Christmas holiday and I wanted to be able to show him all the vases I’ve collected so far that he can use.
Other stuff in the crap corner: parent’s gifts, all sorts of decor items (candles, candle holders of various shapes & sizes, ceramic birds, card/favor boxes) spools of ribbon, our flip flop basket, bathroom baskets, a rug for our ceremony area, a large paned window for our seating chart…. oh the list goes on…

We pretty much have a wedding basement by this point. Good thing the wedding is next week!

It’s called my childhood room. The stuff used to be my parents’ dining room but once I left for the semester it was all shoved into my room. When we got boxes upon boxes of supplies from my cousin including a tote of wedding magazines… it looks like the wedding industry vomited upon my stuffed animals.

Yep, we’ve got one over here too! It’s in the corner of our living room next to my easel. I try to make it as inconspicuous as possible, but as we get closer to the wedding the sh*t corner seems to keep expanding.

We live in a 1-bedroom apartment. I had to strategically spread my s$^t corner out over the whole of the place. It takes talent!

Definitely! I tried to contain it to one area, but lately things have been spreading themselves out. Oy! I’m hoping once the invitations are done that it will help… although from the other comments, it doesn’t seem like that is the case!

It was not a corner. Our wedding stuff literally took up our entire guest room. I had to crawl underneath my dress to retrieve the OOT bags, which I had to store there because the rest of the floor and bed space were taken up by giant rubbermaid bins of escort cards, pomanders, guest book supplies, photobooth props, etc. Over three months post-wedding, I have yet to clean out that room. At some point, I’m sure we’ll have some sort of guest scheduled, which will necessitate finally accomplishing that task. Or maybe they could just walk around all of the stuff :)

Wedding stuff is all over our living room right now. I have zero plans to deal with it for a while…

My sewing room has been converted into the wedding shit room. I have to clean it just about every month. Really really annoying wedding crap!

We moved into a whole new apartment with a giant room so we could have a wedding sh*t room. We still had a wedding sh*t corner and another wedding sh*t corner. There’s no containing it.

We have a wedding sh*t corner in our storage room, and one in FI’s parents’ basement! We have boxes of over 60 cylinder vases for centerpieces, candles, Old Navy flip flops, photo paper and props for our photo booth, silk flowers for decor, card box, bathroom baskets, and much more!
