Mrs. Hot Wings, Chicago/San Diego Age and Occupation: 28, Professor Fiance's Age and Occupation: 32, Instructor Engagement Date: December 20, 2008 Wedding Date: August 2010 Venue: Ocean View Villas/Jasmine Seafood Restaurant About Me: I am a psychology grad student living in Chicago and planning my wedding to a fellow psych grad student. I am a Sunny So-Cal bred gal who trudged across the country to follow her love of psychology and ended up finding a partner in the process. I am overly passionate about anything I involve myself with. I am an activist, a foodie, a reality TV watching junkie, an over-analyzer, a photography obsesser, and am utterly cheesy to the core. This is a story of what happens when a boy and a girl meet, fall in love over academic dorkiness, and a shared love for life. We (mostly I) are planning our semi-destination wedding in my hometown of San Diego. We are excited to bring our families and friends together from across our lifespans to celebrate our future in a grand 400+ person culturally blended affair!

Reasons Why I'm Dying for Video : wedding pictures pro pics recap san diego Ceremon012 Ceremon012

What the heck is so stinking hilarious? Even though our photos came back in chronological order and Mr Hot Wings and I wrote the entire ceremony ourselves, I still have no idea what happened in these photos.

And oh, please tell me why I’m giving Mr Hot Wings the “Uh, are you serious?” look. I have no clue!

We adore our pictures. They really capture our wedding “story.” We wrote our entire ceremony together, so we have the script and know exactly what words were spoken. And yet, I still cannot figure out what the heck is going on in these photos. As I’ve gone through my ceremony recaps, you might have noticed that I pretty much knew what was going through my head at all those times. But these photos really intrigue me, and I have no idea what was going on or what I was thinking. I bet it was good, too!

We even adore our wedding same-day edit video because it really does capture our the emotions and sentiment of our wedding day. But I’m still left with this desire to know what the heck went on in these photos. If you recall, our video has amazing music and video images, but there are no spoken words in it. So we still can’t tell what words were spoken. We’re still waiting for our full-length wedding DVD. I’m hoping that the video with words will help to clarify these photos for me.

I wanted to share these photos to help all of you who are wavering back and forth about video. Photos are wonderful, but a video of the ceremony is one of the only ways to capture the words. Even if it is just a hand-held camera on a tripod that a friend sets up, I highly encourage doing it. There’s no harm in having the ceremony documented in case you end up with wonderful photos like these. They totally seem to capture the emotion of the moment, but I’m not sure what moments they are.

Does anyone else have photos where you have no clue what is going on? How did you figure out the story?

I love these pictures! And I totally agree with you - I WISH we had done videography!! We actually brought our camcorder and were supposed to have someone videotape it but it just slipped past us!

OHHHHHHHHH MY GOD! For Christmas I would love it if Santa left our wedding video. I keep going over and over the bad details in my head and I want something pretty to remind me of how much fun we had. I FEEL YOU!

I love your smiles in those photos! We’ve got a few photos in our repertoire where I have no idea what’s going on, but as long as we’re smiling and laughing, I guess it’s OK. ;)

Haha - HW I feel the same way…there are a few photos out there that I have to rack my brain over, trying to remember why I was making such a strange face! Usually, I’m sticking out my tongue. What the…

This is a wonderful endorsement for the use of wedding videography. I’m sure your wedding videographer captured great sound during the ceremony and you’ll be able to relive the moment of your laughter. I’m certainly sure the waiting is killing you. But in the end, it’ll be worth it. All the best.
