Mrs. Cardigan's Picture
Mrs. Cardigan, Austin Age and Occupation: 21, Student/Soon-to-be Special Education Teacher Fiance's Age and Occupation: 20, Student/Soon-to-be Accounting Systems Analyst Engagement Date: August 16, 2009 Wedding Date: January 2011 Venue: Vintage Villas About Me: I'm a native Austinite who was raised as a die-hard Aggie. Luckily, I'm a pretty persuasive girl because I managed to convince my high school boyfriend (now fiance!), Mr. Cardigan, to ditch his hardcore Longhorn ways and join me up at A&M, where we currently reside with our adorable dogs, Cullen & Ranger. We're currently planning a bright, cheery wedding with a ridiculous amount of DIY projects that I can't wait to tackle! I love crafting in any form, reading, and margaritas (I think I love them the most!). Organization is what keeps me sane and I love helping others, which is probably why I ended up as an education major. It gets a little chaotic sometimes when you're planning a wedding among all of the papers, projects, finals, and certification exams, but we're having the time of our lives and we can't wait to get started on our journey as husband and wife - and we're so excited to share our wedding with the hive!

Cheap Find of the Week!

December 23rd, 2010 @ 11:16 am by Mrs. Cardigan

Y’all, I don’t have much time to chat right now, because I’m in the middle of packing like a crazy person. We leave tomorrow for Austin and won’t be back until AFTER the honeymoon, which means I’m not only packing for the next two weeks in Austin, but also for our entire honeymoon! Eep!

But, I just had to pop in really quick and share this amaaaaaazing find that I stumbled on the other day in Hobby Lobby for, get this, $3!

SO CUTE, right? Mr. Cardigan and I kind of have an accidental ballon theme going on, with our engagement photos, save the dates, and even our altar decor featuring balloons, so these little guys are absolutely perfect! They’ll look incredibly cute hanging from the tree hanging outside the entrance to our venue—you can see the tree here:

When I first saw these guys, I only bought two because I didn’t realize they were on sale—but when I realized they were only $3, I quickly hurried back to Hobby Lobby to snatch up the rest of them. I figure if we have some left over after putting them in the tree, we’ll have no problem finding other places to stick these cute little guys. I’m SO excited about them!

And now that I’ve shared my fun find of the week, I’m off to finish packing! Next time I write, it will be from Austin!

Have you found any cute and unexpected decor?

Miss Cardigan - is your dog eating a cat in the background of that picture?

Sorry, got sidetracked from the balloons.

@jillocb: Oh my goodness that comment made me laugh really hard! No, that would be my two dogs playing in the background. I kept trying to get a photo without them in it, but they were all over the place!

Glad it made you laugh. I’m a dog owner as well so my eyes went straight to the mania in the background. :) Great score on the balloons!
