Mrs. Cardigan's Picture
Mrs. Cardigan, Austin Age and Occupation: 21, Student/Soon-to-be Special Education Teacher Fiance's Age and Occupation: 20, Student/Soon-to-be Accounting Systems Analyst Engagement Date: August 16, 2009 Wedding Date: January 2011 Venue: Vintage Villas About Me: I'm a native Austinite who was raised as a die-hard Aggie. Luckily, I'm a pretty persuasive girl because I managed to convince my high school boyfriend (now fiance!), Mr. Cardigan, to ditch his hardcore Longhorn ways and join me up at A&M, where we currently reside with our adorable dogs, Cullen & Ranger. We're currently planning a bright, cheery wedding with a ridiculous amount of DIY projects that I can't wait to tackle! I love crafting in any form, reading, and margaritas (I think I love them the most!). Organization is what keeps me sane and I love helping others, which is probably why I ended up as an education major. It gets a little chaotic sometimes when you're planning a wedding among all of the papers, projects, finals, and certification exams, but we're having the time of our lives and we can't wait to get started on our journey as husband and wife - and we're so excited to share our wedding with the hive!

Here We Gooooo!

December 24th, 2010 @ 6:40 pm by Mrs. Cardigan

Hive, I feel like our wedding is actually really truly happening! I mean, I’ve known all along that it was happening, but this afternoon Mr. Cardigan and I are loading up the car and heading to Austin. The next time we see our house we’ll be a married couple!

I think one of the most exciting things about all this packing is finally getting to clean out our wedding closet! You know, that space everyone has that looks like the wedding has completely taken over? Yeah, that’s our extra bedroom closet and it’s been driving me crazy for months now. As of yesterday when I started packing it up, it looked like this:

Pretty bad, right?

It kind of looks like our wedding just threw up in there. And that’s even after I had removed all of our wedding party gifts to wrap them.

Buuuuut I packed it all up and rearranged things a bit, and soon we had a nice, pretty closet once again.

Muuuuuch better. It should be interesting fitting all of that crap in Mr. Cardy’s and my cars when he gets off work this afternoon.

But that’s okay, because we’re getting MARRIED, y’all! It’s all starting!

Did you have to travel somewhere before your wedding?

I have to head from Chicago to Detroit for the wedding. Which is going to be unfortunate, since we’re going to have to a) make an extra trip sometime before the wedding to lug all the wedding related things, or b) figure out some way to cram everything into the trunk of our Aveo, which is small. The backseat is off limits, because we also have to bring our two large dogs.

Good luck!

Miss Cardigan, can I just tell you that you’re my role model? I got engaged this evening and when I told my family I wanted to get married 3 to 6 weeks after I graduate from college, they acted like I was crazy. And I kid you not, I said, “If Miss Cardigan can do it, then SO CAN I!!!” :)

In other news, Merry Christmas and Happy Travels!

Wow, I so miss Texas-sized walk in closets. And rent low enough to have extra bedrooms **sighs and waxes poetically about time at Texas A&M**

I had to move to a new state for the wedding, but luckily that was a few months before it happened. Best of luck on your wedding day. Hope it is fabulous!

the wedding pile posts always make me laugh… we have a wedding corner and when i can actually get back into my closet and there isn’t a monstrous dress bag in it - it will be awesome!! of course, moving all this stuff from DFW to orlando ith a 2 person mag limit is going to be interesting….
