Yet another wedding-decor collection by yours truly…
So far, I have collections of fabric, mementos, jars, and vases. There’s one more to add to the list. Bells.
Please excuse my messy desk.
Lots and lots of bells. I currently have 75.
I had mentioned in a comment on Miss Panther’s mismatched china post that I deeply wanted to get antique bells for our send-off but couldn’t find any that were a decent price. Luckily, helpful hive member evorce pointed out that I should check out eBay under a search “lot of bells.”
Thank you very much, evorce! I hit the jackpot! On average, I would say that I’ve spent about a dollar on each bell. This is a great deal considering the antique stores I hit up in Austin wanted five dollars or more per bell.
I found some that look like people.
This one makes me think of Little Red Riding Hood.
Some of them are collectible state bells.

However, now that I have all these fantastic finds, I’ve decided they need to be used for more than just the grand send-off. What other use could I have? You’ll have to wait until next time.

Such a cute idea! I’ve been struggling with our send-off idea myself. My collecting addiction, as I call it, started in November. My wedding will be all about candles. So, naturally, I have started quite the collection of holders. To date I have 236 mercury glass votives and 9 huge hurricanes. The clearance Christmas decor has been my go to spot at any store I walk in. You think I may be done…but I’m not, there is still more to collect. Thank goodness my parents are so kind and have LOTS of storage space.
Kissing bells! Some people don’t like this tradition but I’m all for it!
I’m collecting vintage silver teapots and urns for my centerpieces. I’m up to 15, and I need 15 more! I’ve been popping into all of the secondhand stores and antique warehouses to find them.

Are you using them for the sendoff from the ceremony spot to the reception or the end-of-night sendoff? If it’s the end-of night, then they’s make oh-so-cute place card or escort card holders.
