We were pret-ty nervous that we would bomb engagement photos. Luckily, Ms. Katie Albrecht made us feel as comfortable as you can kissing in public places, and she was great at giving us direction so we weren’t floundering around like our usual dorky selves…She obviously has mad skills because our moms basically freaked out over the photos she got. Seriously, my mom’s reaction to our sneak-peek photos included 33 exclamation points. Yes, I counted. I think my mom logged into our online gallery 50 times over the two weeks it was available. OK, without further ado, Prairie Dogs on parade:

C’mon, bub. SHOPPING.

“I look like a handsome, pensive model.” “I look like I am dreaming up evil schemes.”

“I am still handsome!” “I am still not taking this seriously!”

Forget the stairs, let’s squeeze each other:

Squeeeeeeeeeeeze.That’s just what we do in well-lit alleys.

OK. Back indoors, where people cannot wave at us from their cars, as we pose like fools:

This is our morning routine. Sit on the floor in front of the fireplace, stare into each other’s eyes…you know, whatever. Then we move to the big chair and have a chat:

Once we became weary of chit-chat, we moved on to reading books while sitting up really straight:

“Science!” “Jane Austen!”

Let’s agree to disagree. To the park!

I call this one: Who cares that we’re kissing? Look how cute our dog is!

Katie also managed to get some gorgeous photos of the house—inside and outside. I won’t bore you with snapshots of my home, since this is a wedding blog, but they are so special to me. Now I have beautiful pictures to show my relatives who haven’t visited yet and maybe even show future, hypothetical kids the first real house where we got engaged.

All in all, I couldn’t feel more confident for our wedding photography. I know we’ll get some amazing shots. And our moms will cry over them. Again.
