Luckily, I'm a pretty persuasive girl because I managed to convince my high school boyfriend (now fiance!), Mr. Cardigan, to ditch his hardcore Longhorn ways and join me up at A&M, where we currently reside with our adorable dogs, Cullen & Ranger. We're currently planning a bright, cheery wedding with a ridiculous amount of DIY projects that I can't wait to tackle! I love crafting in any form, reading, and margaritas (I think I love them the most!). Organization is what keeps me sane and I love helping others, which is probably why I ended up as an education major. It gets a little chaotic sometimes when you're planning a wedding among all of the papers, projects, finals, and certification exams, but we're having the time of our lives and we can't wait to get started on our journey as husband and wife - and we're so excited to share our wedding with the hive!

Recycling at Its Finest!

December 28th, 2010 @ 12:09 pm by Mrs. Cardigan

After the amazing shower Sister Cardy threw for me was over, I was NOT ready to let go of the amazing decorations she had made for us. It was obvious that she had spent a lot of time working on them, and there was no way I was just going to let them get thrown in the trash!

So, I brought ‘em home and repurposed them as decor! At first, I felt a little silly putting shower decorations up in my house, but I absolutely adore how it turned out, and it makes me smile every time I see them!

Our extra bedroom now looks MUCH more bright and cheerful, thanks to a new bedspread (I got it at the shower, actually!) and some super cute shower decorations. They added some life to that boring white wall, and I love going in there now!

Oh, and also in the extra bedroom are those cute little initials that Sister Cardy had on her mantle:

And my absolute favorite reused decoration is in the master bedroom. It’s absolutely perfect.

LOVE!

(Side note: yes, Ranger photo-bombs pretty much every picture I take. Especially if there’s a bed nearby!)

I love that we were able to find a way to put all of Sister Cardy’s cute decorations to good use! Hopefully after the wedding we’ll be able to do the same with some of the stuff that I’ve been working so hard on.

Did you reuse any of the decor from your shower or wedding?

@Alicia Krepps: Aw, thanks! He’s part lab part german shepherd! He’s still a puppy, so he’s probably going to get quite a bit bigger, but he’s an awesome dog! :)
