Something Borrowed

December 29th, 2010 @ 5:58 pm by Ms. Sloth

I still haven’t decided if I’m going to try and find “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue.” I don’t think that I’ll make a huge effort to find my Somethings, but if they fall into my lap, I’d be happy to use ’em.

I suppose that I have plenty of new stuff - my dress, my shoes, my hairpiece. My Something Old can be one of the many vintage brooches in my brooch bouquet. Blue? I don’t know. That one should be pretty easy.

But I have a Something Borrowed. It’s not anything that I’ll wear on the wedding day, but it’s still pretty awesome. Let me show you:

This package arrived today. What could it be?

It’s super-tall and very skinny. What’s inside?

Poles? Plumbing? Huh? Let’s make some sense of this.

Ah, there it is! Does it look familiar? No? Let me give you a hint.

It’s Mrs. Pin Cushion’s amazeballs PVC photobooth setup. After her wedding, she sent it to Mrs. Glasses…

And Mrs. G sent it to me!

I love that this contraption has been making its way through the bees, and I can’t wait to use it and then pass it along to another bride-to-be(e).

Did you borrow any wedding decor from friends or coworkers?

Very cool! This is one of our DIT projects. What fabric/other are you using for your backdrop?

@photographernico: While it was Pin Cushion who actually made it, I believe the fabric was purchased from Ikea!

ha that’s awesome! for your something blue, why not make sure there is just one blue brooch in your bouquet and then you’ll be set! it was pretty easy for me to find mine: old - grandma’s earrings; new - dress; borrowed - mom’s pearls and diamond studs; blue - blue ribbon to lace up the inner corset in my dress. nobody saw the blue, but it was there :)

I sooooo thought it was Ladder golf (Hoosier golf to some) and was excited because that game is awesome!

But a photo booth background is equally as cool! And I LOVE that fabric.

I like the idea of using it as a limbo stick . . .

Nice!! And I love how that photobooth packs small, I’ll also look into making that! I haven’t given much thought to the somethings as well, something new and something blue are easy, but not sure what I could do for something old and borrowed…

That’s sweet! My wishing well card holder has been passed from friend to friend. I’ll be the fifth bride to use it.
