Ms. Cheetah, Los Angeles/Palm Springs Age and Occupation: 31, Artist, Educator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 32, TV Finance Engagement Date: April 2010 Wedding Date: March 2011 Venue: The Viceroy About Me: I’m a silly, sassy lady with a compulsion to create. I love to sing and dance, despite the fact that I lack any talent doing either. I somehow manage to be messy and organized at the same time. I like to spend my days road tripping, watching '80s movies, reading true crime books, buying things on sale, sending postcards, playing board games, dining at food trucks, snuggling, and drinking ginger ale. I have a weak spot for all things sweet, especially Mr. Cheetah! I’m a Chicago girl and he’s a Nor Cal boy but we love living in the City of Angels. After 10 years as a couple we are planning a fun-filled semi-destination wedding in Palm Springs. Hope you enjoy the ride!

Twenty-Eleven Minus One

December 31st, 2010 @ 12:15 pm by Ms Cheetah

Mr. Cheetah and I have spent a couple New Years apart in our tenure (or tenyear, ha ha, I’m so punny) together, but for the most part we’ve been lucky enough to start each New Year together with a New Year’s kiss. But not this year.

Twenty-Eleven Minus One : wedding palm springs relationships New Yea

Maybe Next Year

Due to our schedules (and needing to save time off for other things, aka the honeymoon) our only engaged New Years, where the new year will be the year of our wedding, will be spent apart.

It sucks.

Anyone else spending New Year’s Eve without their significant other?

me too! this is our 10th new year together and our first one apart. Ours is due to how we negotiated holiday times with our respective families. I will be a 5th wheel tonight at for the first time in years…

Happy new year!

My FI is a police officer. We have never spent NYE together as his schedule has required him to work it or to be sleeping to work NY Day. It’s just another day for us! Happy New Year!

Aww, I’m so sorry to hear that! :( We’ve spent practically all of our New Years together apart, but this year we are making sure that we don’t.

I hope something works out for you, sweets.

My FH and I have been dating for 5 1/2 years, and this will be the first one that we’ve spent together. I’ve been involved in college marching band, so I’ve always been traveling with the bowl games. Now that I’m out of school, we finally get a new year’s eve together - and we’re getting married next week!

It is our New Year’s Day today, and I couldn’t see it in with Mr E coz he had to be away briefly which sucked, but thankfully I get to see him this afternoon at least. We’ve only spent one new year’s with each other while we have been together. Sorry to hear you wont be with Mr Cheetah for this New Year either :(

I feel your pain. My FI is a chef and he’s always working past midnight on NYE. :(

Nope, I’m married to a police officer as well. All the days where people party require him to be at work :(

i’ll be apart but since we’re in a ldr, we’re usually apart anyway. we’ve only spent one nye together so far and it was probably the sweetest, even though he fell asleep well before midnight. lol

Me! My guy is on orthopedics call tonight, which means he will be too busy fixing broken hips/arms/legs to even sneak home for a kiss at midnight. Ahh well, maybe next year!

It does suck, but we can all drink a “girls toast” at midnight and make it suck less!

We had to last year (although we weren’t engaged at the time). Send up a toast at midnight to each other and know you’re both thinking of the other.

We are apart this year. :( I’m not even doing anything fun. I’m working on cleaning and organizing our house that FI will move into when we get married. I’ve lived in it 7 years and poor FI will only get a corner if I don’t get my rear in gear. I go back to school, I’m a teacher, on Monday and then after that it’s three weekends until we get married and all of them are booked solid. So, I’m ringing in the New Year in my pj’s, doing laundry, and hauling crap to the flea market in town and the attic. But, it’s the year we get married! How could I be upset? :)

I’m spending it with friends and without my boyfriend, which is the first time since we started dating a few years ago. I’m gonna hate not having someone to kiss at midnight, but I’ll at least have people to celebrate. I had to be in Austin for some basketball games and he did not, so he stayed in our hometown. Sad day, but alas, there will be more kisses to come.

We have only had two NYE together in 6 years, and this year I am doing nights and so he went to stay with friends in another town. So I spent new years eve at home alone before going to work!

My fiance is currently serving in Iraq and this is the first new year’s eve we have spent apart in 3 years. But he did call right before it turned the new year there in Iraq so we sort of brought in the new year together, even if it was about 8 hours early for me. Happy New Year!! It’s going to be an exciting one!

I spent last year without Mr. Jelly on NYE, because he was deployed. I had a low-key night with one of my best friends, we just went to dinner and watched Say Yes to the Dress all night. I am lucky that he was home for NYE this year. Hope you did something fun!

Hope your NYE was filled with friends, food, fun and drink. Or pajamas and tv, that’s good too right? 2011 is your year with Mr. C! Enjoy it!
