About Mrs. Ostrich

“To send a postcard is a good way to go somewhere without moving anything but your heart.”

Remember waaaaay back when I shared with you our idea for a Vintage Postcard STD? Well, now that every one of our guests has received theirs, I thought it’d be fun to show you how our first wedding project turned out?

Drum roll, please….

TA-DA! Our Vintage Postcard Save the Dates : wedding diy hawaii save the dates stationery 11

TA-DA! Our Vintage Postcard Save the Dates : wedding diy hawaii save the dates stationery 2

TA-DA! This is what each and every one of our wedding guests received in their mailboxes as the first wave of destination wedding fun. All we needed was a vintage postcard, an alphabet rolling stamp, some cool postage stamps, and off they went! It literally took us one evening, one bottle of wine and 3 episodes of Top Chef to make these guys. Cross my heart.

Short and sweet, our vintage postcard STDs turned out exactly how we hoped and made our favorite people excited about a little trip to paradise. :) Mission accomplished!

As for our item and cost breakdown, here it is for your viewing pleasure:

The Ostrich Vintage Postcard Save-the-Dates:

“Aloha” vintage postcards, qty: 50 = $30

{we wanted to have a few extra for the wedding day}

Alphabet rolling stamp via Etsy = $24.99

Custom stamp kit via Staples = $29.99

New & vintage postage stamps = $47.60

_____________________

Grand total = $132.58

Not too bad! The nice part is we’ll be using the custom stamps for our remaining wedding projects—the OOT Swag Bags, and CD favors to name a few…so that $55 was a pretty good investment. :)

Destination wedding brides, what style of STD did you end up choosing?

Is someones last name “Guest”, or is that just a placeholder? It’s my last name! :D

@MissHoneyBun: Ahhh, what a coincidence, Miss HB! The Name is actually a placeholder, but I also thought someone might have this last name in the hive and i was right :)
