After tirelessly working on our bouquets for most of Saturday (sorry, I was a horrible blogger and was too stressed out to take pictures), it was time to load up the car and head into the city. We had our rehearsal at Ladder 15, and then dinner at Tavern 17, the restaurant at the Radisson where we were staying. Apparently, we only eat at places that have numbers in their names.
So we got to Ladder 15 and kind of took over the whole restaurant—the patrons that were there were polite and watched us with interest as we worked it all out.
Since we didn’t have a DOC or a planner, I kind of had to wing the rehearsal. I had only been to my sister’s wedding rehearsal before, so our plans were the “fly by the seat of our pants” kind.

I gathered everyone around and told them that we’d all be walking out to one song, Joshua Radin’s “Lovely Tonight.” I went through the order of each of our bridal party members’ speaking parts, and then we went upstairs to practice coming down the aisle!

I think that was when I told Dad Socks, “Don’t let me fall!”

We made it down the stairs without incident.
We ran through the entire ceremony:

And it went so well! I guess I was always worried about the ceremony since we were doing something so different by not having an officiant. I think that our bridal party served as the perfect officiants though, and we couldn’t have asked for more from them!
After the rehearsal, the entire group of us went up to the third floor and assembled all of our craspedia flowers in the vases we brought—with about 20 people there, it took less than 10 minutes to have all of our flowers and votives ready for the next night!
We headed over to Tavern 17 for our cheesesteak dinner!

I had found ONE flower in our ranunculus disaster that was all red, so it was my hair accessory that evening.
As for the rest of the ranunculus, we put them in various vases that I had around the house, and used them at our rehearsal dinner and in our bridal suite.

I spy The Cardigans!

Overall, the dinner was a hit—everyone loved the cheesesteaks and had a good time getting to know each other.
Mr. Socks and I opened our gifts to each other. I got a Swarovski necklace that I wore on our wedding day…

Sorry for the closed eyes, it’s the only pic I have…
And Mr. Socks got a note from me describing an amazing wine class I signed us up for at Tria Fermentation school.

He was very excited!
To end the night off, we handed out our homemade cookies to everyone and thanked them for coming!
