Three Months Left! Ready, Set, Go!

January 3rd, 2011 @ 5:54 pm by Mrs. Brooch

Um…what happened to the last two months?

It feels like we went to sleep and woke up 3 months from the big day!

I’m stressed.

Well, not really.

I’ve actually been really laid back and calm about the whole thing these last few weeks. I’m feeling confident because all of our big vendors are booked and we’re on target in terms of our budget. I took a mental break during the holidays, and that was nice.

Now that the sparkle of Christmas and New Year’s is fading, the reality of our wedding—about 90 days away—is settling in. My immediate thought was definitely “Oh sh*t! Time to haul ass!” I didn’t realize how close we’d be after the holidays.

I’ve counted them out, and there’s 12 weekends between now and then, and about um, about 40 projects. Yes! 40! A lot of those are small things like buying the bridal party gifts, but there are some biggies too, like the escort card display…

To get it all done, I’ve decided it’s time I ask for help.

I’ve spent the last year and a half trying to do this on my own and it hasn’t gotten me anywhere (hello! 40 projects)! My first order of business is to call meetings. The first one being with Mr. B because it’s impeccable we’re on the same page.

My other meetings effective immediately are with my maid of honor and mom to debrief them on all the leftover projects. We’re outlining every day of the next few weeks and going to plan out each project and event…it’s going to be a busy time…

I’m actually really excited. This is the fun part. Even though the tasks seem a bit daunting, it’s finally time to do the stuff I’ve been day dreaming about and planning for the last year and a half. I’m also really excited about the wedding, moving in with Mr. B; and of course, our honeymoon.

It feels like we’ve just started in on that last few miles of a big race!

Ready, set, go…

Are you on a mad dash before your wedding, too?

OMG, I get married in 8 days and I am in full blown panic mode trying to get everything done + working full time! Time just flew - it was here before I knew it.

I feel you there - we’re getting so close and it’s kind of freaking me out. I kept thinking there was so much time, and now all of a sudden there really isn’t!

Lol oh my, 40 is a big number! Smart to call for help, I’m sure that number will dwindle down quite rapidly

@Lexsy: Yeah, I think it sounds worse than it is. We’ve started and already knocked off ONE thing so it’s only 39 now :)

I woke up yesterday freaked out because I was 6 months out, I can’t imagine being 3 months out! I kept waiting to start stuff so I wouldn’t change my mind on everything, but it is getting a little close for that now! I can’t wait to see how everything in your wedding comes together!

i feel you, miss b. to help calm my nerves, i sat my butt down last night and updated our wedding to do list and realized i could delegate about 70% to our wedding coordinator. and while we also have lots of diy projects ahead, i’ve made sure to block out as many weekends in february to get them DONE. i’ll be cheering you on!!!

Miss Brooch, I’m curious….do you have someone to ensure that all your precious time spent planning and managing your 40+ projects pays off on your wedding day? Would you like to know that everything you have planned for your wedding is running like a smooth machine leaving you, your friends and family to do nothing but enjoy your celebration? Don’t go in to panic mode. I’m in your neighborhood. http://www.taylormade-weddings.com/dnn/About/tabid/73/Default.aspx

For some reason I would always say, Oh, I have 6 months. Well, we’re 4 months out and that is crazy! There’s still a lot of planning to do but we have big decisions made with enough deposits down so that we don’t feel too crazy. I can’t imagine how I am going to feel each month as we get closer to the big day!
