Mr. Lobster and I rented a bus to drive us to our photo shoot location and venue. It was the easiest way to keep everyone together without giving people directions, carpooling, etc. With the bridal party, my parents, photographers and videographer, we had 18 people!

I had my own seat and barely fit my dress into it.
We had our bridal party shoot in DUMBO, Brooklyn near our wedding venue. DUMBO stands for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. It is a beautiful historical location with views of the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges, cobblestone streets, brick buildings and some grassy areas. Plus, our photographers had shot there before so I knew we’d be in good hands.
Onto the pics! We did some bridal party shots on the grassy areas:
Some under the Manhattan Bridge:
…and some on the cobblestone street for shade. Cobblestone is difficult to walk on in heels, hence the concerned eyebrows in this photo:
I love this shot of our bridal party. This is the kind of photo that attracted me to CLY Creation in the first place! You can see the Brooklyn Bridge (also featured in our Save-the-Dates!) faintly in the background haze.
I feel a bumblebee theme going on here. Buzz buzz.
I love this photo with a yellow taxicab! It’s such a New York moment.
Mr. Lobster so kindly held my 10 lb bouquet as I aired out my legs since it was starting to get hot again.
Then we did some photos of just Lobsters. Some of these are similar to our engagement photos which would be nice to have both in the same frame in our living room (I’m thinking big time now, aren’t I).
Our photographers even brought this super cute “wedding” sign, which in my “bride brain” I thought they had literally taken it out of the ground somewhere because the bottom looked wet from dirt. *Later* I saw it in their studio so obviously it’s a prop they take around…or is it? Maybe they did find it that day…
This is just a photo of me. But I love the detail shot!
I am so grateful to our bridal party, videographer, and photographers, who all maintained sunny attitudes and plenty of smiles through the sweltering heat! My parents were also great sports handing out ice cold waters shown here with their sun shades. Mom doesn’t look quite as thrilled about it.
This is just a tiny sampling of the awesome photos we got from the shoot, but you get the point. After lots of smiling and posing, we all boarded the bus again and finally took off to the venue!
If you missed part of this lobster tale…
