Ring Tones

January 6th, 2011 @ 5:18 pm by Ms Cheetah

I’ve had my engagement ring for about 8 months and I’m currently shopping for a wedding band, but I’ve been wearing rings on my left hand ring finger for years. Some people may have assumed that I was wearing a promise/engagement/wedding ring, but that wasn’t the case until recently. Since I’m right handed I prefer wearing my rings on my opposite hand and I don’t subscribe to the idea that the left ring finger is reserved only for engagement and wedding rings.

Here is my collection of rings. All are vintage except for my engagement ring (the blue sapphire) and the rose ring, which once belonged to Tori Spelling. I guess you can say that Donna Martin graduated that ring to me. (Please tell me someone out there gets that lame attempt at a joke. Please.)

I don’t like wearing more than one ring at a time, so the rings above have been ignored in the past few months. I plan to work them back into my ring rotation after the excitement of the engagement and wedding rings have died downwhich I happily suspect will take a while.

Are there any other ring collectors out there?

No. I am not a big jewelery wearer at all! I usually am only wearing my engagement ring and my college ring.

I love rings! I have as many if not more than you do and a lot of mine are also vintage. I have to rotate through them too but I do have some favorites that I wear more than others. I love my vintage cameo but its big. The edwardian filigree stays the longest :). I wish I could wear them all!

I got your joke, and it made me laugh! You have a beautiful collection! My favorite is the one on the top in the first picture, so lovely! I like your engagement ring too!

Um, Cheetah? How did you get your hands on a ring formerly owned by her Toriness?

Donna Martin graduates, Donna Martin graduates!!!

I like rings too, my fave is an art deco piece from DH’s grandmother that I bust out on special occasions!

I don’t think I’ve ever owned a ring besides my wedding band, but your rings are puuuuuuuurty! Love the blue ones!

I teach high school math… a couple months ago we were working out a problem and the answer was 90210. I tried to crack a joke about the show, and the kids all gave me blank stares. They had NOW CLUE what I was talking about. Made me feel so OLD (and I’m only 26)!!!

!!!!Must hear the story behind the Tori Spelling ring!!!!

Love rings & would even go as far as calling myself a ringophile (except that may or may not have some sort of strange definition that has nothing to do with wearing rings on fingers).

Hooray for 90210!!!

@Miss Prairie Dog: It’s a pale amethyst in rose gold, my aunt bought it for me because the vintage engraving inside is my 1st name!

@Snowy414: After my wedding band I hope a cameo is the next ring added to my collection!

@MissCasey: There is even the new show, I’m surprised no one got it! That would’ve been my favorite math problem ever!

@heather25: @Miss Panther: @Miss Jam: I went to Tori’s estate sale–it was on the first episode of her reality show (where I make a 2-second appearance). It was so awesome! I bought a lot, but I still wish I bought more ;)

These are all so beautiful! I visit a antique jewelry store so often that the sales people know my name. Should I be embarrassed? Maybe. But not enough to stop going!

I like the Vintage look. I personally have gone nuts out here in the Middle East because I can get everything custom made for my 10.5/11 size fingers….. 8 different rings, including Blue, Black, Pink, and yellow diamonds….I love things that sparkle

Love your collection! I had a couple of rings pre-engagement that I wore regularly…my lovely promise ring (which apparently was an e-ring) and a sapphire ring that was gifted from my sis. The promise ring is no longer though, we decided to trade it in since the trade in cost well more than Mr L had paid and I could never really see myself wearing it again once I had the real thing. I do still have my sapphire though which I still wear on occasion.
