The morning of our wedding, I woke up with Mr. Socks by my side. We got dressed and went down to breakfast with my family. It was odd because everything seemed so NORMAL. It was my wedding day, yet I was just heading down to breakfast with Mr. Socks like any other day.

By the time I finished breakfast, I realized that I wouldn’t see Mr. Socks for the rest of the morning until we had our first look. I kept thinking, “but…what if I need him for something?”

I guess that’s what the rest of my family was there for, huh!

So Sister Socks and I headed up to my room to grab a few things before our hair and makeup appointments. I remembered to tell her to take a before shot, so here it is!

Surprisingly enough, my unwashed hair didn’t look half bad! And yeah, there’s that flannel again. I’m telling you, it’s one of the most comfortable things in my wardrobe.

We got to the salon, and my hair and makeup girl went straight to work on me. I didn’t get to take any pictures of Sister Socks during her transformation, but she looked amazing!

Happy with the look so far…

A little skeptical about the bangs and how extremely curly my hair was, but I was assured that it would fall in time for pictures.

Here’s the final result! All I kept thinking at this point was…”A girl can’t get married in flannel!” from Runaway Bride.

I also got my nails done in a very light shimmery pearl color (I never wear nail polish, so I didn’t want my nails to look strange for me) and I was ready to get back to the hotel and get ready with my girls!

We got to the hotel where Momma Socks, BM Jess and BM Lea were already waiting. I wrote my letter to Mr. Socks and then sat down to write the shortest day-of-wedding post ever:

I was distracted. Horribly distracted. Eating a sandwich, chugging champagne, trying to remember what the heck I needed to do before our photographer got there…so, oh well! At least I got a little note out to my beloved hive!

Next up…our photographer Georgi arrived and started with the guys!
