I love a good laugh and firmly believe no one has ever regretted being prepared! My motto is “go big or go home.” I am incapable of doing anything in moderation, especially when it comes to shopping, TV, food and travel, and some would say wedding planning! The other half of this nearlywed team is a laid-back, adventure-loving, accident prone, sweetie from LA. He makes me laugh, is always down for an impromptu dance party, and totally indulges most of my hare-brained schemes. Now, in my final year of law school, we’ll be spending the spring abroad in Amsterdam and planning a DIY, whimsical, detail-filled destination wedding in Costa Rica!

Love for ALL Things Lace

January 7th, 2011 @ 8:14 am by Mrs. Pancakes

Despite Mr. Pancakes’s strongly held belief that all things lace are “grandma-y,” I adore lace. I think there is something timelessly bridal about lace. Although I understand that some things have to be done in moderation, I don’t believe blogging/posting images is one of those things, so…here are some of my favorite lace (and lace-inspired) items (this week):

I think that these little touches will satisfy my love for lace without making Mr. Pancakes feel like he’s getting married to a grandma. Compromise—that’s what it’s all about, right?

What have you had to compromise on during the wedding-planning process?

I am in agreement with you that lace is timeless and bridal. I think it adds such a beautiful, romantic touch to weddings. Oh men, why must lace make them think of grandma instead of romance?

Sorry, I know this a lace post & that you are forbidden from baking a wedding cake - but at the risk of angering your awesome WC - I just had to share this homemade wedding cake journey I found today…(read all 4 installments). ;-)

My FH thinks that lacy is “grandma-y” too! He always makes little jabs when I wear a lacy top and he wasn’t too thrilled to hear that lacy was going to be in our wedding :) haha!

My fiance thinks the same too! I told him I was going to use doilies in a project and he said “those things my grandmother puts her coffee mug on?” hahaha!

I love lace too! :-) I’ve always imagined some kind of lace on my dress, but we’ll see.

I fully believe lace is timeless and classy :-)
