Mrs. Barrettes's Picture
Mrs. Barrettes, Tumon, Guam/Napa, CA Age and Occupation: 29, Dancer Fiance's Age and Occupation: 31, Licensed Building Contractor Engagement Date: November 16, 2008 Wedding Date: October 2010 Venue: V. Sattui Winery About Me: I'm an East Coast girl, living on a tiny little island in the Pacific, twirling, leaping, and shimmy-ing my way through life, and now, wedding planning! I'm equal parts nerdy and cool... okay, mostly nerdy. I love satin bows, red lipstick, black & white graphic anything, the shine of sequins and the sound of a champagne "pop". My favorite books are The Portrait of a Lady, by Henry James, and Tender is the Night, by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I can also conjure a pretty good Patronus Charm. I started my appreciation for good red wine while traveling on the high seas, and it's only fitting that my passion for wine drinking led me to my Napa-bred honey. We bonded over bottles of Cabernet on my oceanfront porch and haven't looked back since. We're sealing the deal at a winery in the Napa Valley on a 'perfect ten' of a day!

A Napa Fairytale: My Ensemble

January 7th, 2011 @ 11:56 am by Mrs. Barrettes

As we were busy getting ready, Luke was busy snapping some details. I love these shots and I look forward to hanging them in my “dressing room” in our home someday. My Badgley Mischka Randall pumps need a pretty frame that will do them justice!

Seeing my mom’s transformed dress hanging in the window, I swear I almost passed out.

My bouquet on the left, bridesmaids bouquets on the right. My aunt/florist nailed it.

Mom and Lisa finished preparing my train and veil and waited for me to step into place. I could feel the crunch for time begin in the afternoon and we needed to get moving in order to get to the winery with plenty of time for formal photos. I had confirmation that the men were almost ready and headed out. It was time to dress and GO!

I am wearing those exact shoes for my wedding! I need to start breaking them in! Everyone looked at me like I was crazy because the heel is quite tall (not for me cause I am 5′2 so I constantly wear 3-4 inch heels) so I am glad I am not the only one!

These pictures are just so beautiful!! I am totally in love with your shoes - but couldn’t pull off a 4″ heel (my FH is only a touch taller than I). I am debating having lilacs in my bouquet because I have heard that they will wilt. What was your experience?

Can I just tell you how much I love how your dress turned out? Because I do. A LOT.

We’re shoe twins!! I just bought them for my wedding in October and am in the process of getting used to them by wearing them around the house daily. I’m 5′1″ and FI is 6′1″ so… I could use the extra inches!

These pictures are amazing! And like some of the PP, I have the exact same shoes, and they are gorgeous! I have loved following your blog and especially the wedding recaps! Keep them coming!

I want to get the Randalls in dark red! Honestly, did you wear them all night, and how comfortable are they??

@doxie: Glad I could help! They’re even prettier in person!

@vtbride2011: I didn’t notice any wilting. I began holding them around 4pm and tossed them at 10pm.

@Mrs. Husky: Me too! Turned out way better than I imagined in my head.

@photographernico: Haha! Yes, yes, that must have been the reason!

@icelara: Honestly, they were comfortable enough to walk and stand in for a few hours, but as the reception wore on and I flitted between the dancefloor, courtyard, and barrel room, they had to come off. You will see flip flops in my recaps =)
