I dream of becoming a best selling novelist like Elizabeth Gilbert or Julie Powell (a girl can dream, right?), and love long road trips, a beautiful countryside, music, blogs, books, and all things vintage/thrift/antique/or homemade. I’m a Virgo, i.e. overly sensitive, emotional, and critical, and there’s no such thing as short and sweet in my world. I want to say and do it all. Mr. Brooch grounds me. I point where to go and he figures out the way. He’s a pragmatic fancy-pants who enjoys video games and movies. We both adore our mutt, Rocky, and spending time with our amazingly supportive family and friends. We’re planning a garden wedding with a formal reception with lots of whimsy and unique, Southern-inspired details.

Windows Will Cater Our Wedding!

January 7th, 2011 @ 4:04 pm by Mrs. Brooch

Yay, we have a caterer and they’re awesome! All of you were so close (or spot on) with your guesses, too! It was a close call for us between Putting on the Ritz and Windows, but in the end we decided to go with Windows!

It’s a funny thing how it happened.

We thought we pretty much had our minds made up to go with POTR after our tasting, but then Mr. B unexpectedly ran into a few members of the management team at Windows over by his place of business! He’s always talking about our wedding (aww, cute, right?) and as he told them about our plans, they recommended we give them a try.

At this point, we had only been to their open house and never to a private tasting there. We loved, loved, loved the food at the open house, but always thought Windows was out of our price range!

We thought wrong!  We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to at least try their food. Hey, fifth times the charm, right?

We were even MORE blown away in person!

It’s so awesome knowing one of the best catering companies in the area is taking care of our food. It’s sorta surreal, but at the same time feels like we’ve done our part to seek out and provide the very best our very best friends and family. I feel really lucky to be able to work with such an esteemed company, and hope they don’t let us down! We really, really wanted fabulous food from the very beginning and it feels so comforting to know we’re going to have just that!

Oh yeah, and guess what else?

The cake comes with everything! Yay! That’s less work for us!

Next up, I’ll tell you about our menu and the best pasta I’ve ever had in my life! Mmmm.

How did you chose your caterer?

Wow we got quotes from a few different caterers and discussed what kind of food we wanted but we only had 1 tasting once we narrowed it down and that was it for us!

Cool. I think they’ll do an awesome job based on what they did for my former employer. They’ve been around a long time too.

I was going to say something about our caterer, but I’m too distracted by how pretty that cake is!

Yay! So glad you found an incredible caterer. And the cake being included just puts the icing on it (no pun intended). ;) I can’t wait to find out what’s on your menu.
