Oatmeal Gets Inspired

January 9th, 2011 @ 2:20 pm by Miss Oatmeal

I suppose I should get to the point and introduce our wedding theme. While I don’t really think I can put a name to it, I’d probably describe it like this:

One part vintage + one part country + one part romance + a whole lotta heart. (That last one is my favorite wedding from Brother Oatmeal. So touching and special.)

This wedding is going to reflect us, and believe me when I tell you that we aren’t following any tradition just because we “have” to. I can’t promise everything will be perfect, but I can promise that I’ll be crying a lot, we’re going to have fantastic music, our wedding party’s speeches won’t disappoint, and there won’t be any boring downtime.

OK, back to the fun stuff. I started looking at wedding blogs long before I had a ring on my finger. Speaking of rings, have I told you about mine? Cause I’m in love with it. It doesn’t look like anyone else’s I know, it’s yellow gold, and it’s just wonderful. I’ll try to get a good shot of it one of these days to show you. It deserves its very own post, anyway. So I was talking about how I was frequenting blogs even before the proposal. I’m admitting it because I know I’m not the only one out there that’s done that. So I’d say I had a pretty good idea of the look I wanted pretty early on.

Here are some details that have inspired me over the last few months.

What have you found inspiring? Did you look at blogs like I did? Was it more bridal magazines and shows? Or have you always known what look you wanted for your wedding and didn’t really need to get inspired?

I love this blog, how amazing to see such fun and creative ideas at a wedding! The tableplan is just perfect, it’s little ideas like this that give a wedding it’s magic! Great work!

I didn’t even think to look at wedding blogs/mags or otherwise before I got engaged. I don’t think I was 100% sure I was gonna get married at all -I was happy as is I guess! I love the blue bottles, dahlia bouquet, the table # carafe, and especially the doily runner! I would be worried some drunko would fall into that rectangular pool though!

Your wedding inspriation looks a lot like what is inspiring me for my own. If it wasn’t for wedding blogs (esp. ones like Style Me Pretty & Rustic Chic) I would never have known how to explain my wedding ideas. Being from NYC I’m used to only one style of wedding - gaudy, blingy, and over the top. So not me. (I swear I am a country girl in the life/body of a city girl sometimes). Looking forward to seeing how your wedding comes together!

Spray on bedliners end the appears of a pickup truck’s bed most likely far better than any other truck’s bed finish choice. Specifically now that the truck’s bed liner coating colour can match the paint of your pickup. Even so, truck’s bed liners arrive with numerous issues. If you’re thinking of getting a spray liner or previously have 1, here are a handful of suggestions to take into account.

Everlasting may possibly not usually be very best. Positive, it’s a plus to get a liner that lasts as prolonged as the truck, especially with a life-time warranty. But that in no approaches indicates you get a liner that can’t be broken. See, the guarantee just signifies the liner will be repaired.

Restore means a respray with all the accompanying hassles and time invested. And in the meantime you drive a pickup with a damaged liner and maybe probabilities of a damaged bed as well. The true key to spray liner sturdiness is the thickness of the layer. That indicates liner material can be torn aside and worn apart and still the damage may not get to the bed itself.

An additional believed you may well not want to think about is how that liner gets on the truck. The only way the liner paint will stay on is with appropriate surface preparation. That signifies the paint obtains sanded really aggressively. It all but obtains destroyed just before the liner coat goes on. Picture this. You get this new truck with the very carefully applied factory paint finish and then you compensate this guy to acquire an air sander and sand the paint practically off. Then you spray a paint coating on more than that.

That’s not necessarily a poor factor, it’s just a agonizing considered. That’s what it normally requires to get that “permanent” liner.

Harm to truck beds comes as much more than just scratches as well. Dents may possibly do much more hurt than scrapes can genuinely. Dents surely take much more to repair than a few scratches. Dent defense is an additional way that liners pay for themselves. Spray coatings usually add nearly a complete quarter inch to the truck’s bed thickness. That coat includes rubber texture material as effectively as quickly hardening paint as nicely. That thickness absorbs bumps although warding off injury.

For seems a sprayed liner may well be unbeatable, but for defense a cheap choice avoids some of the difficulties designed in with spray.

Cheap rubber mats guard from influence better and are effortlessly eliminated. With long lasting liners, really nasty hauling tends to make a mess of the bed and you have no option but to either clear it out or leave it a mess. But with non permanent liners, it’s an easy task to slip the mat in or out when you need it or when you don’t.

Yet another consideration with spray on bed liners arises when you get the price tag. A expert finish prices you large. That’s a actual reason to appear at other choices or at least to carefully shield the liner if you already have a single.

Check out a bedliner today and see what you’re missing!

I love your inspiration equation — it describes what I envision for our wedding, too!
Totally guilty of the wedding-blog-reading before the ring, too… before I got engaged, I went through about three different themes for what I thought I wanted for our wedding — then after we got engaged, I went back through those and got some new ideas. The general theme that we’ve settled on combines a lot of pieces from the other themes in a way I never would have anticipated from the first times I browsed wedding pron, but looking back, I love seeing all the connections between the different ideas :)

We’re theme twins! We’re doing antique bottles/tins and mason jars for centerpeices. Whatever we can make/collect ourselves. I find bridal magazines were a waste of money. The best ideas i got were from blogs. Especially greenweddingshoes.com. They feature a lot of ‘these’ types of weddings.
