Mrs. Tartlet, Rochester, MI Age and Occupation: Age & Occupation: 27, Post-Doctoral Research Fellow Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Medical Student Engagement Date: May 2, 2009 Wedding Date: May 2011 Venue: The Royal Park Hotel About Me: I'm an exuberant gal from the Midwest with a penchant for Neuroscience and anything sparkly. I'm not afraid to poke fun at myself, and I'm a believer that given the right pair of shoes, a girl can conquer the world. While an interest in the sciences threw Mr. Tartlet and me together (again, and again, until it finally stuck), we share a love for many things---food, video games, car dancing, food, bad puns, travel, did I mention food?---that ultimately led us to where we are now, less than five months from becoming Mr. and Mrs. We're planning a laid-back, romantic, garden-inspired affair with organic and quirky touches that reflect our love for the unexpected!

Our Color Palette: Pink Sugar

January 11th, 2011 @ 8:17 am by Mrs. Tartlet

Pink can have so many personalities, from sassy and bold to delicate and sweet. We finally settled on a base of creamy ivory and gold for traditional elegance, but instead of pairing them with classic black, we’re incorporating touches of chocolate brown. Add some splashes of soft peachy pinks and a hint of French blue to soften the palette, and voila! The perfect combination for bringing classic garden romance indoors! It’s girly. It’s frilly. It’s fru-fru-fantastic!

These images are my springboard when I start to doubt my color choices. While I pieced these together using Photoshop, Style Me Pretty launched a great resource called the Style Circle, where wedding aficionados can post their inspiration boards. Dig around—there’s something for everyone!

Share your wedding colors! Have you used inspiration boards in finessing your palette?

@mudbug: On their blog, if you go to the “Browse Topics” drop-down menu on the right side and select “Inspiration Binder” you’ll be redirected to all of their inspiration boards + corresponding color swatches. I pieced together swatches from multiple boards, so I individually saved the images and then manually copy/pasted the color squares together in Illustrator. If you don’t have access to Adobe, I’m sure programs like Paint or even PowerPoint would work, too!

@Miss Tartlet thank you so much!! I was wondering if there was a super secret color swatch vault on their website, but I guess not. Thanks for the steps to make my own color board, I really appreciate it!
