…was a little diamond bow ring.
If you know me, you know I have a thing for bows. Any bow will do, but satin bows are the best. The strong knot, the billowing loop, the notched ends—gets me every time. I *kinda* had an inkling of what it was when I saw the little box. I spotted it at the Santa Rosa Mall a few weeks earlier when Mr. Barrettes and I were shopping for wedding party gifts and I made a quick comment about how adorable it was. He told me I was silly and that I’d like a string of sausage if it was tied in a bow. Surely I would, but that little diamond bow was just perfect!
When I returned to the mall a few days later, I swung by to see my perfect little bow and it was gone from the case. I tried really hard not to get my hopes up, as anyone could have bought that ring. The minute I pulled out that little box from that little bag, there was only one thing I knew I would see. He did good!

OMGosh! These pictures are priceless. I LOVE your facial expressions!!! And that ring.. um, it’s to DIE for! Can your Mr. B call up my Mr. B and tell him where he got it from, and tell him how it was a huge hit? Hehe

We exhanged gifts as well. DH gave me a book he made of the last 3.5 years together, some of his favorite pictures and emails and posts.
I gave him some cufflinks with 324 on it. He has a physics degree so its obviously Pi, but Pi means infinity and 314 is the number of the first apartment we lived in together

That is SO cute! I love it.
Giving each other a wedding gift is such pressure! to relieve us of it I bought us each a leather journal and gave him his on our anniversary, we are each going to write in our journals one or twice a month, we will write about why we love each other and our hopes and dreams for the future, etc. Then we will exchange them on our wedding day as a gift. Bonus is we can use them to help with our vows!
