Big happy sigh. These are some of my favorite photos from the day. I’ve already shared one of them, and now it’s time to show you a few more from our sunset session.

After we finished eating, Mr. Husky led me toward the hills for our “couple” photos. Our window of opportunity was quickly closing, and we were down to the last half-hour of useable daylight.

That look on my face? It’s me debating whether or not to tell Mr. Husky and our photographers that I hadn’t yet had a chance to visit the ladies room, and I wasn’t altogether confident that I could make it through the photo session. Notice I’m double-fisting it there? I’m sure that didn’t help the situation. I finally confessed that we would have to wait another few minutes, and I made a mad dash for the house. While I was there, I decided to pull on my cute boots. We would be traipsing across a field, after all—despite the creatures that had apparently taken up residence there.

Boots on and bladder empty, we started out on our walk. Our strategy was to simply take a walk together, stop at the old trading post for a few minutes, and then head back to the party. The sun was setting throughout our stroll, and created the perfect lighting for our photos:

We had spent most of the day apart from one another, and used these moments to talk about our mornings and use the words “husband” and “wife” as many times as possible. The photographers followed us around on our walk, but kept enough distance to make us feel like we were alone.

We headed toward the old trading post:

We sat on the front porch for a bit, and Mr. Husky found an old boot. He held it up to mine to compare, in what I now refer to as the “Cinderella Shot”:

We stepped inside, and one of the cameras stayed outside:

We headed out from the trading post as darkness began to take over the sky.

Along the way back, we snuck in a few kisses.

As we walked by our ceremony site, Mr. Husky picked up our wine box to save it from the impending rain. We stepped up onto the platform to check out our program, guest book table, and favor bar.

We unrolled the guestbook, and tucked it inside the wine box to be read on our first anniversary.

As we turned to head back to the party, Mr. Husky noticed the gift table.

Yes, dear hive, that is a gift-wrapped 12-pack of Pabst Blue Ribbon, with two homemade koozies – a Mr. Husky and a Mrs. Husky—thanks to our dear friend B.
And with the sun’s departure, we returned to the barn.
