I love to sing and dance, despite the fact that I lack any talent doing either. I somehow manage to be messy and organized at the same time. I like to spend my days road tripping, watching '80s movies, reading true crime books, buying things on sale, sending postcards, playing board games, dining at food trucks, snuggling, and drinking ginger ale. I have a weak spot for all things sweet, especially Mr. Cheetah! I’m a Chicago girl and he’s a Nor Cal boy but we love living in the City of Angels. After 10 years as a couple we are planning a fun-filled semi-destination wedding in Palm Springs. Hope you enjoy the ride!

If the Shoe Already Fits…

January 17th, 2011 @ 1:17 pm by Ms Cheetah

My first dress fitting is just a couple days away and I was told to make sure to have my wedding shoes with me. So I turned to one of my favorite places to shop: my closet.

I raided my closet looking for shoes that were 1) adorable 2) bridal 3) would work with my dress and 4) somewhat comfy. I came up with four solid options:

Clockwise from top left: Blush pink t-strap wedges, pink & black hearts, ivory t-straps, shimmery sling-backs.

I love them all but I think I’m leaning towards these two:

1. The Ivory T-Straps

Oh how I love t-straps… I’ve worn these to dinner twice and they seemed comfortable. You can’t tell from the photos, but the shoes have a slight shimmer to them. They seem so perfectly bridal and I could always add a shoe-clip if I feel the need for more pizzazz.

Not actual shoe clips–but they work!

Fun fact #1: The name of the shoes: Gabriel. Guess what Mr. Cheetah’s name is?

Fun fact #2: Mr. Cheetah bought me these shoes: Why? Because he accidentally chipped my tooth trying to kiss me once after he’d had a few. My numerous dental trips earned me many surprise gifts from Mr. Cheetah. ;)

2. The Pink & Black Hearts

I adore these shoes and I’ve worn them many times. I’ve never had a comfort problem with them, but my foot does slide into the point after a while. They are more worn than the t-straps, but they don’t look old yet. They just seem to scream fun wedding shoes to me! And as you know I have a thing for heart shoes

I’m planning to bring both pairs to my first fitting, but which pair is your favorite?

A woman after my own heart, I love some T-straps & wedges! Can you have a ceremony pair & reception pair? Bonus points for having 2 pairs of shoes you already own to choose from!

I think i would go for the ivory ones for the wedding, then change into the heart shoes after for the reception. Then you get to use them both, but get the nice “bridal” shoes for the wedding ceremony.

I love the Irregular Choice! I own a few pairs and they are my favorite shoes.

I like the two-shoe idea as well.

@MrsPrince: I think that is a great compromise!

If i were picking, I would go with the t-straps (I LOOOOVE t-straps…we wore them for show choir when I was in HS, and they make me all nostalgic–so classy!)…I adore them with the coordinating flower (left in the picture, right shoe). This shoe clip business is something I am unfamiliar with, though. Educate me?

I love them both! I’m leaning towards the T-Staps though… Maybe you could find some heart show clips? On an entirely separate note, I’ve totally chipped Mr. Bacon’s tooth while trying to laugh and kiss at the same time…. TWICE!

Wear the T-straps for your ceremony and then the adorable pink heart shoes for your reception! So fun!

I like the T-straps because there are endless customization options! They also seem more foot-friendly.

Glad to hear someone else is thinking about wearing shoes they already have! At least this way we already know the comfort factor :)

Wow those heart shoes are adorable! I know you said you’ve had them awhile but what brand are they? I’d love to score a pair of my own!

@LittleMissBrassBand: Shoe clips are just little decorations that you can clip onto your shoes for a little more flair!
@Miss Bacon: I thought I was the only who had that happen to me! Too funny!
@jessicanicole156: They are made by Irregular Choice, but they are quite old!

I love the heart shoes too! I definitely would love a pair of my own. But have you tried a liner inside the shoe? That helps me prevent my feet from sliding forward in wedges.

@vttp926: A liner is a great idea! I’ll probably add one to whichever shoes I go with!
