After the boys left the apartment, it was finally time for me to put on the dress—my dress—the dress I’ve been waiting to wear for so long. If you recall, I found her back in November of 2009. Two-thousand and nine! Needless to say, after hanging in my closet for over a year, I absolutely couldn’t wait to put her on again.

Also waiting in the wings were my amazing shoes that were a generous gift from my wonderful aunt. Seriously, the shoes. Drool.

You might recognize these gorgeous earrings. The fabulous Mrs. Star wore them on her wedding day and sent them to me as my “something borrowed.” They went absolutely perfect with my dress. Gotta love the ’Bee!

I put together my bouquet the morning before. It was a simple mix of white hydrangea, the palest peach carnations, blush pink roses and seeded eucalyptus, all tied together with a navy blue velvet ribbon. Loved it.

Keep calm and carry on, I must say, was quite appropriate for the day. I’m still shocked at how calm I was throughout the whole process. In real life, I’m a pretty anxious person, but for what ever reason, on our wedding day, I was cool as a cucumber.

Well, maybe except here. I believe this was a combination of “This thing better still fit!” and “There’s a hook and eye, mom. Close the hook and eye and it will be easier to zip! I promise!” Ahh, mother/daughter love.

Once the dress was zipped, I checked my hair one last time…

…put on my veil and hair flower (I swear the veil makes being a bride so much more real!)…

…I slipped on my shoes, grabbed my bouquet…

…and off I went to get married!
