Hairstyles: Long Waves

January 19th, 2011 @ 5:22 pm by Mrs. Pashmina

The long, loose curl that is effortlessly cascading down a bride…I just adore it! It’s romantic and beautiful with just that perfect touch of natural. I am sifting through some of the pictures that I took to my wedding day hair trial. I, like so many brides, had to decide between three basic hairstyles for the big day: up, down or half-up. Which version for the wedding? Would there be time for two? I was instantly drawn to having my hair down. This is what I usually wear most days, so it feels like me. Very feminine, a little casual, and made perfect with a white dress (and perhaps a flower, too)! Here are a few inspiration pictures for long, Bohemian waves.

after months of wearing my hair short because of my post wedding chop, I’m starting to miss my long hair that I could easily curl for these looks. Oh how the grass is always greener on the other side.

What about long hair that won’t really hold curls or waves?

I’m wearing mine down, I call the look “effortlessly pretty”. I posted some pics of my hair trial and I’m almost certainly doing it all down, or down with a little bit pinned in the back. Love the down look!

LOVE this look, it seriously makes me want to grow my hair out right this minute! So effortless and natural, sigh.

Pretty much the style I wore! Long loose waves with an ivory headband.

I went with hair down, flowing and curly. I’m not gonna lie - it was a hot mess by the end of the night! But it stayed alright through our portraits so I’m happy! :)

I, without a doubt, prefer Kate Hudson’s ‘do. It’s exactly how I want mine to look. Unfortunately, my hair is just now at my shoulders and my wedding is less than nine months, so I’ll probably have to get extensions.

I LOVE your invitations–we are doing a skyline theme throughout our wedding (also a clock theme, which is convenient considering the iconic UT tower in Austin has a clock on it!). Anyway you could send me a picture of an invite, clearer? I promise I won’t copy them verbatim.

Thanks! Love your style girl!

Bahaha totally just realized that was an inspiration pic. Checked out your blog though, and still dig your style! I’m also having an interfaith wedding (Jewish on his side, Christian on mine). Neither of us are particularly religious so it’s tough to incorporate both of our families and still be true to ourselves.

Let us know which hairstyle you go with! I was thinking down for the ceremony, then do some magic with bobbypins for a messy low side-bun for the reception. I’m a known bobbypin master.

I originally thought I would have my hair up for the wedding… but the more I look at pictures like this, the more I want to wear mine down too.

I would have loved to wear my hair down with loose curls, but I ended up wearing my hair up. Reason: My hair is straight… that’s all. Won’t hold a curl! Plus, we had an outside wedding in Florida - humidity would have been then end to ANY curl!!

This is exactly what I envision my hair on my wedding day but my sweetie has really let me know the likes my hair up so I’ll be going with an updo. I do love these flowy curls though.

I love Taylor Swift’esc waves, but I have finally accepted the fact that my hair will never never ever do anything remotely close to that. My hair is long, thin, fine, and straight… not exactly the wavy hair recipe. I’m going to do an updo for my wedding supplimented with a hair piece for some extra needed hair! lol
