Hanging From the Trees

January 20th, 2011 @ 11:30 am by Mrs. Pancakes

My love for hanging flowers has developed into a full-blown obsession. I love the look of flowers hanging in jars.

How gorgeous is this table? I love the idea of taking the flowers off the table in order to save table space for food!

Here’s the deal: I love the way these flowers look in these closeups, but what do they look like at the actual wedding? You would probably have to have a few dozen to make a real impact; otherwise they would just look really sad. Nobody wants sad flowers at a wedding. This last picture is actually really great because it’s a great example of how to use this beautiful detail!

Have any of you used hanging flowers before? How many did you have to buy and put together relative to your guest list and location size?

I’ve loved this look for a long time! I really wanted to do this for our wedding arch but my mom was the florist and she opted for something more traditional :(

We’ll find out! I bought 6 hanging glass holders from cb2.com (”whirly hanging candleholder”) and plan to hang them with pretty silk ribbon from shepherd’s hooks going down the aisle. I’m hoping the ribbon will increase the visual impact a bit. I want to use a single rose floating in each.

I’m glad you ladies agree. I’ll definitely keep you updated on what I come up with…

@StrawberryBee: I saw those globes and CB2! I just don’t think I’ll be able to get them to Costa Rica. I can’t wait to see how yours turn out!

@Ice Cream Sundae: I LOVE this wedding. I totally wanted to add it to my post but couldn’t remember which blog it was on! Thanks for sharing.
