About Mrs. Zebra

Invite Night

January 20th, 2011 @ 3:02 pm by Mrs. Zebra

1 year ago I started to think about the invites.

9 months ago I started creating mock-ups for the invites.

6 months ago I printed the invites.

4 months ago I embossed the invites.

3 months ago I flipped out and tried to avoid the invites.

1 month ago I got off of my ass and made the final push to finish the invites.

I worked around the clock for 3 weeks, all for the night I am about to show you. I came out on the other side with a few new TV show obsessions and a major crush on Dr. Drew. Oh Doc Drew, you always know the right things to say. Fix ME! He’s everywhere isn’t he? Helping Teens and Addicts alike.

Oh…that’s just me? Heh heh.

Anywho.

I cooked some of these delicious tasties and bribed some family and friends to help me.

I addressed all the invites—more to come soon on the self calligraphy. (Also of note, I’ve found a new way to torture Rocky in his next film.) I had everything laid out and the twine cut for my special guests.

It was an almost 2 feet of snow day and I was lucky that my friends came out to help. Some couldn’t make it due to the weather but I promised them future begging for favors.

Geeky (She’s helping Sara the day of the wedding too—a DOC Friendor if-you-will)

Sissy working hard

We finished within two hours and afterward I felt like the biggest weight had been lifted. I really don’t know how to describe it. I was looking, smelling, feeling like a million bucks—ah!

So I celebrated… =the only way I know how.

ROCK BAND!

Need I say more?

Did your family or friends help you assemble your invites? How did you “lure” them over to help?

I did it all myself. I turn into a invite bridezilla because i want everything to be just so. Therefore i just sat down one weekend and glued and cut and stuffed. And now i’m almost there (and got them excactly as i wanted them to be).
FI just says yes and no when i ask him something (wich colour or style etc.) and then he says “i would love to help but you know i am a real clutz and would just end up making them a mess”.

But i do intend to have a boquet assembly party though..

Wahooo! Two hours? That’s excellent! Looked kinda fun too! We had an Etsy seller design and make ours, we designed and printed wrap around labels, and my mom put everything together and sent them off. Each stage came from Texas, Tokyo, and Los Angeles, respectively :) I sure prefer your way, our way was hard!

Wow! Looks like fun! :)

As of right now, I have finally completed a mock invitation. I thought I was going to tackle it alone & try to print them. One of my bridesmaids (& best friend) offered to have them printed for me at her a local print shop!! YAY! I’m so glad that weight has been lifted off my shoulders! After doing one & almost driving myself & my MOH nuts…..I don’t know that I could’ve done it all alone! haha. But then again..all the hard work of placement & wording is done now it’s just printing & what not!

Kudos to you ! Looks like you had a great time! :)

@ktisthatbees: Nope, haven’t shown it yet. As soon as I receive back some of the RSVP cards from OOT guests I will share.

@MrsPrince: I hear you. I outsourced a lot of projects to Sara and her mother. Sometimes they didn’t come out as perfect as I would have done them but I was super excited to not have to do it myself. I’m so grateful to have had their help.

@Mrs. Glasses: Now THAT is a process!

@Mrs. Husky: Yes they are. I was so excited when Zeb’s eyes lit up and he said “can we make those more often!”

@mrs.ball2b: You lucky devil! That’s a good bridesmaid you’ve got there.

@liz: Ha! I wish I was any good at drawing. I found a shop on etsy. http://www.etsy.com/listing/62161130/custom-wedding-map She is great! I highly recommend using her. I printed them on Snapfish.
