Sweet Songs and A Small Beach Ceremony : wedding hawaii music Maxwan max+wan

It’s time for some fun stuff - picking the songs for our beach ceremony!

A LITTLE MOOD MUSIC:

We have an afternoon wedding and, in true Ostrich form, want to have some tunes playing while our favorite people arrive. We’ll probably need 4-5 songs and I would love your suggestions! So far, all we know is the last song before the processional begins will be this oldie but goodie from The Cure,  Friday I’m In Love. We’ve heard this song literally a million times and we still feel warm and fuzzy every time it plays. :)

LET THE WEDDING BEGIN!

The processional song is a tricky thing for non-traditional brides like yours truly. The music, ideally, should reflect us and our L-O-V-E. but there are SOOOO many to choose from!

Contender #1: Coldplay’s Acoustic Version of  Yellow {Swoon}

Contender #2:

The hopelessly romantic  Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop by Landon Pigg.

A LITTLE WALKING MUSIC:

If there’s one thing Mr. O and I have known since the day we got engaged, it’s the song I wanted to walk down the aisle to. It’s a melody that has a special place in our hearts…lighthearted, dreamy and oh-so-full-of-love, The La’s  There She Goes.  I’ll just have to learn to walk at a slooow and steady pace instead of sprinting down the beach to Mr. O {It’ll be hard to resist!}

THE “WE’RE MARRIED, LET’S CELEBRATE!” SONG:

For our recessional song, we wanted something more upbeat to get our friends and fam excited for the “tasty eats, potent spirits and reckless merriment” to follow. The winner?  Dreams by The Cranberries. Our goal is to have a glass of something good in the hands of our guests by the end of this song…and let the festivities begin!

Now it’s your turn, bees! What sweet songs are you dreaming up for your special day? And if any of you have some favorites that I should use for our prelude music, I’d love your recommendations!

I agree, The Cranberries are always a classy and well-liked play. I also like Landon Pigg, I hadn’t heard of him. Wonderful article!

Wow girl! Your music choices are fab-u-lous! I love it all and it all goes so well together! I’m a stickler for “Falling in love at a coffee shop!” I love YOUR song choice, too, of “There she goes!” It’s everything you said and perfect! Awwww, and then to end it all off with the CRANBERRIES! Love that! It’s non-traditional and fun, and unique!

Wow - we have the same exact tastes!!!! I want to walk down to Yellow - performed by Vitamin String Quartet (look it up….it’s awesome!) and I love Landon Pigg’s too! Both will be in my wedding for sure - love it!

As a music lover of eclectic taste, I ADORE your wedding selections! “There She Goes” is such a unique choice as the bridal processional! I’m kinda envious even though I love the song I’ll be walking down to. The one I always imagined, “Longer” by Dan Fogelberg.
