Mrs. Lox's Picture
Mrs. Lox, Baltimore Age and Occupation: 33, Government Worker Fiance's Age and Occupation: 35. IT Consultant Engagement Date: May 8, 2010 Wedding Date: May 2011 Venue: Vandiver Inn About Me: I’m an East Coast gal born and bred and a suburban brat turned city rat for the last year. Now Mr. Lox and I enjoy walking all kinds of places, having the coolest things around in our backyard, and especially our garage parking. I love gadgets, toys, Ben & Jerry’s Chubby Hubby ice cream, monkeys, and our insane cats. I’m a blonde by birth and a redhead by choice. I’m that girl in the cubicle farm with all the cool toys and the file cabinet covered in magnetic poetry. I still use smiley faces in my emails, whether people like it or not. This is not the first rodeo for Mr. Lox nor me. And together, we are planning an intimate afternoon wedding on a budget we can afford by ourselves.
About Mrs. Lox

Map Lust

January 21st, 2011 @ 2:24 pm by Mrs. Lox

We interrupt this bridal-shop tour with an important message.

You may (or may not) remember that Mr. Lox and I met online. Well, if you didn’t remember I’m pretty sure you’ve got the picture now. So today I was searching around Etsy on my quest for invitations (more on that later), and I saw this:

Map Lust : wedding baltimore invitations stationery Lox13 lox1

How much do I love this? SO MUCH! (Source)

O.M.G. I don’t love the robots, but I do love this idea. Big time. Especially since we met online and have a good number of little hearts to scatter on our own map. I might need this. Seriously. WANT.

Stay tuned to be returned to your regularly scheduled programming, already in progress.

What do you think? Did you include (or want to include) anything nontraditional in your invitations?

L-O-V-E! not only do i love maps and etsy, but i love how you and mr loxy met! as you know, the ostrich invites were far from traditional, which made designing them so much fun! So excited to see how yours turn out!

Oh! Oh! Oh! Seriously I am head over heals for this! I would love to do it for our at home reception invitations. I hope you don’t mind that I “borrow” this idea. :-P

OOH! LOVE! Do it! Do it! Side note: I totally thought this was already customized to you ans was going to ask you if you learned to surf while studying in Hawaii… then I realized this isn’t yours yet. Oops?

Love this! Too bad FI and I went to same high school, went to college in the same state, and both still live in the state. Couldn’t do a USA map… but maybe a smaller version.

Thanks so much for featuring my Robot Love map! I’m so glad you liked it. It was originally a custom design for a client and was super fun to create.

I love non traditional invitations (obviously). They show the personality of the couple.

Happy Wedding Planning!!

This is a really cute idea for invitations, or just to involve in your wedding somehow. It reminds me of this movie I just saw called White Wedding about a man road tripping across South Africa to make it to his wedding in Cape Town. Throughout the movie, they mark where he has been on a map of South Africa. Maybe you could incorporate places that you and Mr. Lox have been together. Vacations? Dates?

Anyways, you should check out the movie for an idea. http://whiteweddingmovie.com/
