I did a crazy rash of spring cleaning the day after Waffle left for LA and came across this dress sketch I had done years ago…
The interesting thing about this sketch is that it is eerily similar to my wedding dress…
They both have ruffled detailing at the top of the bodice, the fabric is wrapped around the body revealing a layer of lace and tulle under. The only difference is that my sketch dress is shorter and has rosettes cascading down the front opening.
My plan was to one day make this dress for myself, but I guess I won’t have to now. Funny how life works out.
Did you always have a specific dress type or shape in mind?

Almost the exact same thing happened to me. I don’t have a printer at home so instead of taking photos of dresses that I liked to the shops when i went dress shopping I had drawn a few quick little sketches. I didn’t show them to my consultant right away (because it was in my pocket and i forgot) but she picked one out that was EXACTLY one of my sketches, and it was the dress that I ended up picking.
Can I just say that I really really really love the dress picture you sketched. Want that for my wedding dress now!

I love how similar our dresses are - mine is La Sposa Madeira and they have the similar skirts & necklines. Beautiful! x
Lovely sketch, and it is funny how they are almost the same! Guess you’re the type of person who knows exactly what she wants 
Love the sketch. You really should consider using your sketches/artwork in your wedding. Maybe table numbers or escort cards or SOMETHING!
