Mrs. Barrettes, Tumon, Guam/Napa, CA Age and Occupation: 29, Dancer Fiance's Age and Occupation: 31, Licensed Building Contractor Engagement Date: November 16, 2008 Wedding Date: October 2010 Venue: V. Sattui Winery About Me: I'm an East Coast girl, living on a tiny little island in the Pacific, twirling, leaping, and shimmy-ing my way through life, and now, wedding planning! I'm equal parts nerdy and cool... okay, mostly nerdy. I love satin bows, red lipstick, black & white graphic anything, the shine of sequins and the sound of a champagne "pop". My favorite books are The Portrait of a Lady, by Henry James, and Tender is the Night, by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I can also conjure a pretty good Patronus Charm. I started my appreciation for good red wine while traveling on the high seas, and it's only fitting that my passion for wine drinking led me to my Napa-bred honey. We bonded over bottles of Cabernet on my oceanfront porch and haven't looked back since. We're sealing the deal at a winery in the Napa Valley on a 'perfect ten' of a day!

A Napa Fairytale: Formal Photos

A Napa Fairytale: Formal Photos : wedding napa pictures pro pics recap Brianne Brianne

We rounded up all of our family members for formal photos and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I provided Luke with a list of “must haves” and he happily organized the groups in a quick and easy manner. We had “smile” shots and “regal” shots. I’m not sure if my cousins could stop laughing long enough to do a toothless smile, but there are lots of good photos to choose from for family framers.

John rocked out his MOH duties and was forever fixing my train to look its best for photos. I’m loving the purple socks.

Aubrey was getting tired of taking photos—it’s hard being so cute all the time! But her mom wiped her tears, gave her a pep talk and she was back in front of the camera for the bridal party photo shoot coming up next!

Photog tip: Luke suggested that we start with the largest group of family first, then all family (both sides), followed by the smaller group of family members. This way more people could be dismissed from photos faster.

I like that even though your dad’s side couldn’t come you still have a really filled out family side. Big ass Asian families FTW! These are gorgeous!

I LOVE V.Sattui and am jealous that you got to have your wedding there… :-) Such a gorgeous location, the trees, the buildings, the wine! Love your dress, especially the neckline! The flowers, colors, everything!

[little voice]… but, what happened to your dress? Why is it so short?

Forgive me if I missed a post addressing this.

:-) <— awkward smile

Is it wrong that I really love that last picture? If so, then I’m just wrong I suppose. ;)

@Alicia: I think her dress is just fine. Not all dresses have to be dragging on the ground!

I love that you did serious shots too. I never considered that, but it makes for a great contrast and gives your cheeks a rest!

@mrspaetz:

You’re right! I just assumed that they were all “supposed to” hit the floor. I was wrong to assume there was something “wrong”.. she looks beautiful and this way you get to see more of her kick @$$ shoes! :-)

@Alicia: Since we restructured my mom’s dress, there wasn’t any more hem to let out. I knew that I wouldn’t have that much wiggle room with shoes, but it didn’t stop me from purchasing the shoes I wanted. I knew the shoes would be too tall, but it was an “oh well” moment :) Turns out it wasn’t TOO bad, but I loved not having to worry about tripping over my dress in those thoes!

Anytime you put up more pictures, I am amazed at how beautiful you look. Oh well, you and your husband (who looked very handsome BTW) are going to have some very very gorgeous kids :)

Ps. I loved the idea of the photographers. That was good, getting folks out earlier.
