I have a weak spot for all things sweet, especially Mr. Cheetah! I’m a Chicago girl and he’s a Nor Cal boy but we love living in the City of Angels. Bringing the Rings

January 26th, 2011 @ 1:24 pm by Ms Cheetah

We’re not having kids in the wedding party which means we won’t have a ring bearer. So, we need to figure out another way to get those wedding bands to the altar.

Of course, our best man and/or maid of honor could carry the rings with them, but I thought this could be a great opportunity to honor two great people in our lives: our grandmas!

Mr. Cheetah with his 97 year old grandma!

Mr. Cheetah and I are lucky to each have a grandma in attendance for our wedding. My grandma will carry Mr. Cheetah’s band down the aisle, while his grandma will carry my wedding ring.

There are so many fun alternatives for ring holders (really, Ms. Cheetah, you couldn’t come up with anything better than “ring holders”?), but I think our grandmothers might be most comfortable with the traditional pillow. I plan on crafting a couple of coordinating ring pillows soon, and here are a few designs I’m digging for inspiration:

How are you getting your wedding bands down the aisle?

I am in a similar situation! I think I will ask my soon-to-be sisters-in-law (ages, 12 and 14) to do it. I didn’t want a large group of bridesmaids but to keep peace with the family, and get them involved I figure this would be a nice way to honor them. My brother (17) will also be walking me down the aisle.

My daughter is wearing our rings down the aisle around her neck. We got hear a necklace with three interlocking hearts to symbolize the three of us becoming a family.

That’s such a unique and cool way to honor your grandmothers!! I love the first pillow!! We’re having traditional RBs but not giving them the real rings-I’m wearing his ring on my thumb and he’ll wear mine on his pinky finger!

Those pillows are so cute! The pink and orange one reminds me of ravioli, yum!

I am having a ring bearer, but I don’ t want to do a pillow. I am thinking I will make a little origami box and have him carry a set of fake rings in that. The real rings will be stashed away with the MOH and BM.

Cute! My officiant will actually carry our rings in on a ring plate, and then have them passed around the church so everyone in attendance can bless them before we exchange…i’m really, really excited!

What a sweet idea! I’m loving the pleated pillow. And the anemone. And the one that looks like a colorful piece of ravioli. And the felt flowers….okay, I guess I just really love them all!

ommmmggggg this is the best idea ever!!! Both our grandma’s are deceased, unfortunately. We only have one grandparent left and that’s FI’s grandpop and I have been racking my brain trying to think of a way to include him in the ceremony! This is GENIUS
