It was finally my turn to have flower girls sitting at my feet while dreaming about their own wedding. Believe it or not, that’s how I always dreamed it, and that is exactly what happened.

First however, there was the food and I’m going to do it… wait for it… wait for it…

FOOD! GLORIOUS FOOD!

Eggs Benedict is one of my all time favorite breakfast foods.

Breakfast Pizza—need I say more?

Cupcakes! Zeb’s Mom decorated them.

It was wonderful! Even some of Zeb’s old Aunts who are notoriously difficult to please, food wise, loved the spread. Score!

Next up, my girls had a little surprise for me. I’m famous for not liking bridal shower games. (Actually, I don’t very often care for showers, in general—separation anxiety with my couch and all) Anyways… I think I’m going to change my tune about showers after mine because seriously, it was the best ever.

Zeb lied to me a few weeks before and said he had 3 fire drills in one week when actually he was going over Spiffy’s house to shoot a video for the NEWLYWED GAME! Every question I answered incorrectly, I had to stuff another piece of Bubblicious gum into my pie hole. Unfortunately it was Zeb who got the questions wrong but I always suffer for his mistakes… kidding. The twins make the video. Well, the twins talking about *my* twins makes the video. See for yourself…

I’ll let you know which ones *Zeb* got wrong. Luckily he got the last one correct. For a good laugh, fast forward to 1:30. Also, don’t let me fool you. I complain about my boobs but I do love them. Hell, girls pay a lot of money for what my momma gave me!

My favorite food is: Gregg’s Chocolate Cake (and Lobster)

My favorite restaurant is not McDonalds or Boobs or Olive Garden. I’m not sure which one my favorite is but I think I answered the Chinese restaurant where I used to work.

My favorite subject: Definitely not Boobs, B!

My current favorite drink: Vodka and Diet Coke.

My favorite feature of Zeb’s: His smile

My favorite holiday: 4th of July but he’s always working so I don’t hold that one against him.

All-in-all he did a great job. I’m no good under pressure though so I ended up with a full mouth of Bubblicious.

After the video we moved onto presents. Everyone was amazingly generous and I felt completely humbled by everything. I couldn’t believe that people liked us so as to spoil us rotten in this way. It was really a wonderful experience to be surrounded as I was.

A recipe card was included in each invitation. The recipe cards were cakesed by Cakes.

My bridesmaids already had a plan of attack in order to streamline the opening of gifts. Come on, we can all be honest, it’s the boring part of a shower (for anyone other than the bride).

BM1: Open the cards and give gift to bride

BM2: Make the ribbon bouquet

BM3: Collect the wrapping paper; dispose of it

BM4: Write down gift and giver in notebook

BM5: Run gifts to and from table

BM6: Take pictures

BM7: Supervisor

BMs are listed in no particular order of favoritism. We did run into a small issue with parking in Newport. The police start tagging cars after 3 hours, COME ON Newport PD, it’s off season—lighten up! So the streamlining of gifts was a necessity.

I am incredibly lucky to have the bridesmaids that I do. They are all so well organized and worked incredibly hard to make the shower perfect. I kept telling them that they really “took it to the next level.” It really was amazing. I’m still feeling incredibly grateful for all their effort, love, and support. Thank you so much, ladies!

*To make the weekend truly the best weekend ever, we received word that Zeb passed his national EMT exam (the test he took that Saturday). It had taken him several tries to pass the exam and he did it on a whim without studying. I am so proud of him that I could just burst.

Best. Weekend. Ever!

@FutureMrsMeinhardt: The girls made them. They bought their supplies from Michael’s and Joanne Fabrics.

@paperrose: We’re in the sisterhood together!

@sarah: Thank you! The video was definitely my favorite part of the day. I find myself watching it over and over.

@BeautifulKatastrofie: Thanks. Britt changed it for me in 9th grade and it stuck.
