About Mrs. Biscuit

I have a confession to make. My name is Miss Biscuit, and I am a wedding-holic. No, I don’t feel the need to crash unsuspecting victims’ weddings, and my addiction hasn’t ruined my home or professional life (yet), but I’ve definitely got an obsession.

The wedding has tapped into one of the major flaws in my personality. You see, as a youngster, my parents rarely told me no (except to getting a race-car bed…sigh). Sometimes they probably should have said no, like when I tipped my hair red and ended up looking like Ronald McDonald with brown roots and subsequently had to bleach out my hair. In a way, I suppose they were smart because I never felt the need to alter my hair unnaturally again. Also, they never had to worry about guys asking me out after that day. Sneaky, sneaky parents.

However, they missed the boat when teaching me about temperance. Not temperance with food or drink; I learned about that the hard way all by myself. I’m talking about temperance when shopping. If I find a pair of jeans I like, I buy four of the same pair. Oh, that’s a nice coat…perhaps I will buy every color! Anthropologie just got a cardigan shipment? Why, I shall buy MANY designs. And then I’m stuck with a billion cardigans, jeans I can’t even wear during the school week, and three coats that I realize don’t fit properly when I get home. I know, I sound like a toddler, but I think that my emotional age is around two or three when it comes to things like this.

All right, so I’m exaggerating a bit, but the wedding has brought this personality trait out in full force. Case in point? Twine. Once I saw this beautiful twine, I knew I had to have it. I had DREAMS about it. Yup, I dreamed about twine. But look at it…

My thought process over this twine: So beautiful! And a steal for the lowlow price of $15. I know…I will buy a myriad of colors!

And I did. The twine came and was much smaller than I thought it would be. And none of the colors were jewel tones, like my wedding colors. And then I found similar twine for less money on Etsy. And now I’m stuck with a ton of twine with no crafting projects for it. Sigh.

Anyone have any ideas for this beautiful twine? Right now, I’m definitely going to be using some for my thank you banner, but I currently have enough to cover at least two football fields. Anybody else buy a bit too much when they put their “wedding goggles” on?

I completely understand haha, I tend to buy each abercrombie shirt I like in navy and dark grey. I can never decide, and what happens if one gets ruined and then they stop making it? I’ll have a backup shirt because I’m such a smart shopper ;)

haha I used to do that with polo’s. I would buy one in every color and even each different shade of blue, yeah it was bad.

@doxie: I don’t know if this would work for you- but I found yarn that looks almost exactly like Divine Twine at Michaels for 1/3 the cost. You might try looking there?

I absolutely HAD to have Divine Twine, too! I used it on our Save the Dates, but I still have a ton left, and am thinking about tying it around some of my decor vases. I have a photo saved that I WANT to link you to, but I can’t figure out where I found it … worst blogger ever. I’M GOING TO FIND IT, HANG ON.

Blog giveaway? ;)
You could use it on signage - not even stuff that needs to be tied up, but wrap some twine around and tie it in a bow? Little bows on drink straws?

@Jonea: Fantastic idea!

If you’re having a candy buffet or anything like that you can wrap it around as decoration on the dishes. Can you incorporate them into your Thank You stationary or anything?

UGH, I can’t find the wedding to link to (though I know it was from Style Me Pretty), so I just put the photo on Image Shack because I really wanted to show it to you: http://img812.imageshack.us/img812/5292/smptwinetiedvases.jpg

@Miss Panther: LOVE! OMG amazing. I’m still trying to finalize how I’ll be using everything, and everybody’s ideas have been AWESOME. What would I do without the hive? Have way too much twine, that’s what :).

I just thought of a great idea for the twine while reading some other posts…..you could use it for the wedding programs. I forget whose blog I just saw the wedding program on, old age setting in, hahaha
