Three Pairs of Wedding Shoes!

January 31st, 2011 @ 5:31 pm by Mrs. Pancakes

So I’ve been going back and forth about these Badgley Mischka shoes. I LOVE them, but I hate how popular they are. I told myself that if I saw these shoes at more than 10 weddings, I wouldn’t get them. Believe me, I hit the 10 weddings pretty quickly!

Then I got a “30% discount off anything” e-mail from Piperlime, and I knew I just had to do it. So, I finally got the shoes! Plus they were only $100 with shipping (original price: $215)!

But then I saw these:

They are kind of cute, right?? In a kind of, “I wouldn’t buy them full price, but since they are $24.50 AND 30% off I want them” sort of way. Here’s what I was thinking. I may still decide to go with flats instead of heels. After all, we ARE getting married on the beach. (Unless it rains, in which case we would do it on the covered terrace at the house…It’s important to have a plan B!)

THEN I saw these on Rue La La, which were on Ideeli a while ago but not in my size. SO I GOT THESE, TOO! I really like the pale pink, but I don’t think I love the silver heel. I also love the leopard-print liners; it’s a little surprise that perfectly reflects my personality!

I don’t know how I ended up with three pairs of wedding shoes, but they are all returnable, so hopefully I’ll be able to make a decision once they get here…? I just have to figure out how to sneak these shoes past Mr. Pancakes.

Which ones do you like? I think I could probably talk Mr. Pancakes into letting me keep two pairs…one for the ceremony, one for the reception. Is anyone else this indecisive??

Love it! Go for all three! One as a backup pair and you’d then have options. Congrats!

I also have 3 pairs of wedding shoes! And actually I am looking for something in the same color range as you but am having a hard time finding anything! I also really like those Badgley Mischka heels but feel like everyone has already worn them…

Good luck with your shoe search!

I Love them all! If I had to choose - my vote is for the first pair, regardless of how many times I have seen them!

I have to say the Badgley’s are my faves. Sooo pretty! Maybe wear the flats for the reception? Their super cute too.

FLATS. I vote for the flats because of your setting and the comfort factor. but if you must do heels, go with the badgley’s. yes it’s easy to get turned off by online popularity of any item or idea, but how many people do you actually know who has worn those shoes? probably none. So rock ‘em if you wanna :) but the flats are still my first choice, i wore flats too!

I think there is nothing wrong with 3 pairs of shoes! Maybe turn the flats into rehearsal shoes so that you don’t have to worry about your dress being too long since it’ll be hemmed to the height of the heels? Then you can have a ceremony pair and a reception pair!

Ladies, Nordstroms is have a 40% off the Randi shoes right now…I just purchased them in purple. So happy! I love Sales! :)

I love the Badgleys, but I feel like you’re right about them being insanely popular right now. The Rue La Las are just as beautiful in a completely different way. My advice is to go with them, but DEFINITELY have some flats to change into, and don’t be gun-shy about making the switch if you start to feel uncomfortable. Pretty heels are 99% for those gorgeous details shots that your photographer will take, and they’re worth it for that, but don’t feel like you have to keep them on.

I’m partial to the Betsey Johnson shoes. I just love her. :)

Those Betsey’s look just like my BMs’ shoes (though they have ones with a shorter heel). All of those shoes look great. The Mischka’s are super comfortable (I know this from personal experience), but the flats would be the most comfortable for sure.

I’m opting to wear a heel for the ceremony and a flat for the reception, I think. But that’s because I’m a 5 year old and am unable to walk in heels. Get whatever you want…don’t worry about what’s popular!

I got the BM’s in purple and they are GORGEOUS. They are also crazy tall and unstable…even for a heels girl. So, mine are going back….

I’m that indecisive! I bought WAY more than three pairs of shoes (and returned all but two). Anywho, I love the BMs and the flats — much more beachy than pumps!
Question, though — if you did a heel for the ceremony and flat for the reception, which shoe would your dress be hemmed for?

I think all of these are great! But practicality wise, you’re getting married on the beach. How are you going to walk in sand on those tall heels? I would go with the flats for sure!

I am totally that indecisive! Just not about shoes. Just wait though, you’ll see. :)

The last ones! OMG the last ones! I think I’m in love. :)

But for a beach wedding, you probably will need flats. Unless you have a platform of sorts (on the ground, not on your shoes) I don’t know how heels would work in sand.

The reason they are in so many weddings is because they are AWESOME! Go for the first pair. :)
