Mrs. Moonbeam's Picture
Mrs. Moonbeam, Los Angeles/San Antonio Age and Occupation: 26, Intern Architect Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Studio Analyst, aspiring Screenwriter Engagement Date: May 20, 2009 Wedding Date: November 2009 Venue: Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church (LaCoste, TX) and Mary Gray Events Center (Castroville, TX) About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, but after college I moved to Seattle for a couple of years and loved it. Then I followed my beau out here to LA and we're getting settled in. I've been making things since I can remember. I was raised by crafters. I love to sew, draw, paint, build, cook, bake (anything with a tangible end result is fair game). In that same spirit, I've been hosting since I was old enough to cook and set a fancy table. I kind of take after my grandmother, who believes that your morning OJ always tastes better out of the good crystal.
About Mrs. Moonbeam

Well hive, this whole wedding process has certainly had its ups and downs, but the positivity of this place (as ethereal as it may be) has helped me to focus on the ups.

So, thank you, hive, for forcing me to find the positives. It’s pretty embarrassing to put it all out there pre-game and then be too unhappy with the end result to put it up. Blogging forced me to focus on the stuff I was happy with, and since weddings are never perfect, it’s a great thing to focus on.

We’ve had a pretty full life since our wedding(s) and I’m excited about all we have in store over the next few years.

I got a job (like a week after the wedding, perfect timing)! And it takes me to far-flung places sometimes.

Another iPhone shot right before the race started and we had to get in the cold, cold ocean. I’m not showing you the ’after’ picture, I have standards (I mean, they’re not high, but still).

We went to Europe for two weeks to see some of our friends tie the knot.

Anyhoo, you can follow along at my post-wedding blog. My Name is Eileen: And I’m a Girl With Too Many Interests. As you might guess, it covers a bunch of different things. So far I’ve got travel, baking, paper crafts, sewing, running stuff, decorator-type things and this…

I really enjoyed your recaps. I wasnt around when you were a Miss, but Ive loved seeing that you have found the best in everything. Your wedding(s) were beautiful and I hope that you enjoy marriage despite your disappointment with some aspects of your wedding :-)

I loved your recaps and I’m feeling quite bleak that they’ve come to an end… just wanted to say thank you for your honesty throughout. Still so in love with your dress, and I know your marriage is going to be such a happy one! :-)

Mrs. Moonbeam — I had no idea you are an Intern Architect! I am, too! And struggling to find work in Los Angeles, as well. That’s so perfect you got a job right after the wedding. That’s what I’m hoping for, too. Wish I had known earlier! Best wishes for you and your future with the new Mister! :)

Thanks ladies! The marriage is definitely going great and I fully expect it to continue that way.

@justeen: I actually found work at an interior design firm, I honestly don’t know of any of my friends in LA who have been able to find an architecture gig, or keep their previous ones. It’s rough out there, so I’ll send any good luck your way that I can.
