Mr. Starfish and I actually exchanged gifts before the photographers arrived, but our videographer asked me to read Mr. Starfish’s card on camera, to include in our wedding video.

This was probably the only moment of the day that I felt the video camera on me. I really wanted a wedding video, but videos make me nervous.

Mr. S sealed my card with our signature “I love you more.”

He labeled my card with the title “The Bride.”

I think he knows how much I enjoyed planning and being a bride, so this was very fitting. I went less sentimental and titled his card with one of his nicknames. Mr. Starfish has more nicknames than P.Diddy. It seems like absolutely every person he meets gives him a new name.

When it came time for the “exchange,”  Sister Starfish brought my gift to my soon-to-be husband.

I gave him a gift card to get a piece of art from his favorite local artist. I had already picked out the photo (it was a photo he fell in love with when we went to Newport the week he proposed), but wasn’t sure if he wanted a print or canvas, so we went on our honeymoon to pick it out for our new home. I asked the store clerk to print out the photo, so he had something to open.

After Mr. S opened his gift, Sister Starfish returned with one for me. Mr. Starfish totally surprised me with my gift.

I love pearls, so he surprised me with a necklace and bracelet set. This was a big surprise!
