Mrs. Eggs Benedict's Picture
Mrs. Eggs Benedict, Seattle Age and Occupation: 29, Attorney Fiance's Age and Occupation: 35, Attorney Engagement Date: December 5, 2009 Wedding Date: February 2011 Venue: IslandWood About Me: I'm a Northwest girl who spends my time goofing around with Mr. Eggs Benedict and our dog, hiking, traveling, drinking wine and planning a wedding that will showcase the best of what the Pacific Northwest has to offer. I also love photography, beating Mr. Eggs Bene at Mario Kart, and watching the most ridiculous natural disaster flicks you can think of (seriously, how can you deny the awesomeness that is The Core or 2012?? That's right, you can't). We are planning our weekend wedding adventure at an environmental educational center, and I can't wait for the fun to begin!

Carpeting the Ceremony

I love this lamp. I’ve never really cared about lamps, and right now our living room light comes courtesy of three of these lights from Ikea. I do like them, but I’m ready to add more color to the room. If I could figure out a way to make this a wedding purchase and work it into our ceremony, I totally would. But I’m pretty sure the carpet that we’re getting for the ceremony is the only home furnishing that will be involved in our wedding. Well, that and candles, I guess.

I don’t have a picture of the finished carpet yet because it’s still being bound, but it should be done in the next couple of weeks. This was one of my aunt’s ideas and I love it. We’re using a square carpet on the stage to add a splash of color and anchor our ceremony space.

The color we got is the top left sample. It’s a beautiful teal color (more blue than it appears in this picture), which will play really well off the trees lining the back of the stage and the cobalt blue of the bridesmaids’ pashminas.

Even better? We get to take the spot that we got married on and use it in our house for years to come. This was definitely an investment in something that we’ll use later in our home which is why we decided to go for it, but I really love the idea that we’ll always have the spot that we said our vows on with us as part of our home.

:) We purchased an accent lamp from Ikea for our lounge area and now use it on our buffet. I love dual purchase wedding items!

Ha, we totally have those a few of those same Ikea lamps scattered around our apartment. I’m pretty tired of them, but saving for the wedding doesn’t leave a whole lot left over for fancy home furnishings right now! Soon, hopefully :)

That is such an amazing idea! And you can sit on the floor on your anniversaries and drink wine and reminisce. No fighting on the rug. Only happy lovey-dovey cuteness. I love it!

We have a ceremony carpet too! From Ikea, oddly enough. :) It’s a high-pile apple green shag carpet, it looks like grass!
