Mrs. Socks's Picture
Mrs. Socks, Southern NJ/Philadelphia, PA Age and Occupation: 23, Web Developer/Marketing Specialist Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Systems Engineer Engagement Date: September 7, 2009 Wedding Date: October 2010 Venue: Ladder 15 Restaurant About Me: I am originally from the Midwest, but I love being an East Coast transplant! Mr. Socks and I are foodies and winos to the core---give us a hunk of cheese, some charcuterie and a glass of wine and we could die happy. We have two mischievous Wire Fox Terriers with completely opposite personalities but with a shared love of uprooting anything in our garden. Our backyard garden includes everything from tomatoes and peppers to a fig tree, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries! I love cooking, indie music, and spending time in our wedding city of choice---Philly!
About Mrs. Socks

After our formal portraits, the bridal party all climbed into a 14 passenger van we had rented to drive us around to our photo locations. We decided to take our pictures in Old City, which is the historic part of Philadelphia. I was a little nervous about the cobblestone streets in my heels, so I had a pair of boots to traipse around in in between shots.

See back there to my left? BIL Socks was the best ever and carried my Kate Spades for me! What a gem!

I just love the old brick that surrounded us! It provided a great backdrop.

There was also a little park that we went to for a few more shots:

I LOVE the fisheye look of this picture! Maybe a little Photoshopping will take care of those dead patches of grass…

Eh, not terrible, but definitely not perfect.

It’s hard to tell if this was one of those “laugh and pretend like you’re having a good time” or if there was something genuinely funny going on. We’re such good actors, right?

We tried to do the serious look:

But OMG, we look completely ridiculous (at least I do), so I’m glad we didn’t do too many of these serious photos. Maybe we’re not such awesome actors!

Much better!

We took a few more group shots…

But TJ had to be a ham…

I think that’s my “I’m the bride and you better stop messing with me, for serious!!” face. Oh well, gotta love ya, TJ! :)

All of these pictures make me so happy. The bright colors, the beautiful day, the city we love, and the friends who make us laugh and who made the day so special. These photos are what make me look back on my wedding day with some fond memories, despite what happened with Mr. Socks’ family. It really speaks to how amazing our friends are and how lucky we are to have them!

Next up…a few pictures of the two of us!

I am currently in the “what color flowers should I have?” stage of planning and have been tossing around the idea of a yellow bouquet. After seeing your beautiful pictures and your absolutely gorgeous bouquets, I think I’m going the yellow bouquet route as well. Yay for bursts of cheerfulness! Thanks, Mrs. Socks!

I really like how your photographer switched up the group photos so they weren’t just the usual woohoo! we’re standing in a line! pics. Like, he alternated your girls with the guys and had them face different directions. Quite stunning :).

Ooooo love your pics! I really love how your bridesmaids’ dresses look together, color-wise, and how the yellow pops against each one! Such a scrumptious fall palette!
