Hive, today is a big day. A big ohmygoshI’mgoingtofreakout day. It is officially 99 days until our wedding.
Oh, I’m sorry, did you miss that? I said 99 days!
We’ve been engaged since October 2008, so you all can image that I never thought this day would be here. Mr. Giraffe and I have plenty of time to do things…or not! Ahhh! We’ve been counting down in three digits for a long time now, and I never thought that would change.
Also, coupled with this two-digit-craziness, is the fact that something completely unexpected happened to me. I swear, I never thought I’d be this person, never in a million years.
You see…I’m kind of over wedding planning. I hate to say it, but now that we’re so close and the day is getting closer, my priorities have kind of shifted. I still want to do a whole bunch of DIY madness before the big day, but now I’m starting to look more and more towards my future life with Mr. Giraffe. The idea of actually being a wife is kind of exciting and scary.
Right, where was I? Oh yes, wife=awesome, but there still is a ton to do! For realises! Oh man, if making the list makes me tired, then I am in for a few long days, I think.
So, hive, what do you think? At any point in your wedding planning did you experience a shift in priorities?

My little countdown is still at 126 - so I’m not going to freak out until I get there too! 
Um, I’m already just looking forward to being a mrs. And a bit over planning. Ha!

I’m with ya!! We have a little bit longer but at four months out I’m more stressed and less excited. All the things that we’ve put off facing now need to be addressed. It’s a reality slap in the face, but so is our soon to be reality of husband and wife. We couldnt be more excited to get married but planning a wedding is losing its appeal. I think we’ll rally though and so will you!
I recently had the same freak out, 98 days for me. We got engaged in May 2009 so it hasn’t been as long of an engagement but it is definitely feeling super real all of a sudden. Its unreal to think of all the stuff I still have to do. As soon as my fall semester is over in a few weeks I am going into mad wedding planning mode!
took the words right out of my mouth! scary, excited, over planning but still wanting to do DIY projects…

99 days for me too!!! I can’t believe its finally in the 2 digit countdown! So ready to become a Mrs.
At that point I was just like you - so over wedding planning. But (at least for me) it all got kicked back into high gear again with a couple months to go. And now with just a couple weeks? I’m so ready for it to be here! I’m really close to being done with all my projects and having time to spend with family and friends when they get into town.
Eeeeeep! Happy two digits! I totally freaked out on Jan 1 when I realized that this is the year I become a w-i-f-e!
Yay! Not going to lie, once my countdown was <200 I started getting cold palm sweats.
So exciting, You post reminded me I have to pull my list out again and see what is left to do.
